Not much has been spent on these Outofspec charging graphs located here:

https://outofspecstudios.com/charging

The first thing that we can learn from these graphs is the Cybertruck charges as fast as any other BEV Truck.

Faster on the lower end of the curve and slower than the hummer and rivian on the higher end of the curve.

What stands out is how poorly the lightning does.

2. What also stands out is how similar the charging curve is for most of the Tesla models.

What you find here is the model Y, the model s plaid, and Cybertruck compared. Even with different batteries, these models are similar.

3. Then you see where the hysteria comes from…. The Cybertruck just takes longer to charge. Not sure why the model y was soo poor.

maybe this has something to do with the software. But my sense is that it has more to do with how much you can push through the existing charging infrastructure.

if you look at it like a big gas tank, there are a few ways to improve the fill rate. Either you increase the pressure of the gasoline (volts), or you increase the size of the pipes (amps). In the electric world you need the volt pressure increase to fill that tank faster.

The mass hysteria we’re seeing is directly proportional to people’s misunderstanding of the availability of 800v chargers and the current battery capabilities.

He did mention that they needed to redo lightning because they probably messed it up.

We did chat about this in one of the fear mongering threads but it's probably buried somewhere so thx for separating.

Yeah. That would explain it. But what could they have done to mess it up?

I’m not sure how this ends the hysteria. We’re talking about significantly less than advertised real world range paired with “just takes longer to charge”.

I'm not sure. I didn't see that video. But he's confident it's actually better

Significantly?

not sure either

but I suspect they think the messed it up because it’s not consistent with other known reliable curves out there?

regardless, I’m also confused Hummer curve, so what do I know

curious, how do they standardize the fast charger they use?

I believe he said in the video that they weren’t sure if they got a good specimen because it was early production model. I listened to a good amount of the video in question and he made reference to it a few times.

run the Governments EPA tests and you get the same range. You have a beef with the EPA, not Tesla.

Between the CT and the Hummer, does the Hummer have higher pressure gasoline or bigger pipes?
