The CT will be my fourth early build Tesla (2013 S, 2018 3, 2020 Y). In my experience, there has always been a bit of randomness in the delivery process and no strict logic to receiving invitations to confirm order, getting a vin and taking delivery. Even the delivery dates slip. Some folks will get a vin and wait for weeks for delivery and others will get a call that their truck is ready for pickup immediately with no notice. I suspect there will be some regional batching since a service center will need to be up to speed on proper delivery prep and repair which would require training. Easier for Tesla to focus on a small number of centers in these early days where there will inevitably be problems that need correction. Case in point, I'm a day 1 reservation holder in Northern Virginia near @DStetter with a similar RN to theirs (112751xxx) but they got their invitation to configure 12/16 and mine came 1/31. Why? Who the heck knows. When it comes to delivery, I would not be surprised if we end up getting CTs around the same time or even out of sequence from the order confirmed date for, again, who knows why. Perhaps cash -v- financing -v- lease is a factor (or not), perhaps having a trade-in matters (or not). At least with the CT there are no paint/wheel/interior options to factor in the formula.

@Jordan_Keeney on X posted a kentucky vin, and cincinnati was mentioned in by the showroom when they contacted him. I'm guessing that means blue ash showroom has some on the way (which should serve both southern ohio and northern kentucky if I understand correctly)

Where abouts are the people in VA with orders? I am in the Leesburg area of Northern VA, ordered on the 16th of December and am still waiting for a VIN (said January through March on the order). I spoke with the Tyson's Corner Tesla folks who were at the DC auto show and according to them, no customer deliveries have gone through the Tysons Corner Tesla dealership, which is my closest. They did say a few employees have orders and are still waiting for their VIN's.

Please keep us posted. I logged all of the ohio orders and you're the only december AWD order at cleveland-lyndhurst. This would give us some insight into the representation of people on the forum vs total orders. If the two of us 1/9 invitees don't get called up, and 8 trucks are delivered, that means we're close to 1 in 10 orders being logged here vs total orders. So if you happen to see other trucks being picked up, or see a bunch waiting in the back, it would be very helpful if you could count them and report back here.

Damn. I ordered 12/15 in Raleigh, NC where a CT was delivered in Charlotte yesterday, and still no VIN. FML. Congrats!!

There is one other Ohio order that is confirmed with a VIN via our local Tesla FB group and another guy who ordered around the same time who is most likely the third one on the list.

We will probably all get our trucks delivered at the same time but yes to your point the science behind how many people logging on this site is a crapshoot and I would not say that it doesn’t represents the majority at all.

I was not going to post my update, but finally figured it may help others, but guessing a lot of people don’t bother.
