Cybertruck picked up 1/25 in Dallas, TX
Garage kept, 3M Vinyl Matte Black Wrap, Ceramic coat
No rain exposure, Hand Washed twice then immediately dried after

Got rust spots on the wheels, nothing on the body panels
Portions around the lug nuts look like they're eroded through

Not sure what you mean by "eroded through" but it looks to me as if the lug nut holes in the rim didn't get fully painted. The center section under the cap looks like part of the hub and is not usually painted and surface rust is normal. You could coat it with phosphoric acid which will turn the rust to iron phosphate and passivate the bare metal to prevent further rusting, assuming Tesla doesn't do anything about it.

Pretty sure that you'd find similar on any other new vehicle.

Yep, that's normal with all cars on parts not exposed to view. I would spray a little Boeshield T-9 on there and put a cap on it until the updated wheel covers arrive.

F-150s have a lot more rust than that, you can see it on brand new F-150s that are still on dealership lots. And GMs, and Dodge Rams:

Like almost every car/truck underneath the center cap looks like this. Nothing Tesla specific.

Just because the car was in a garage doesn't mean it never got wet during production and final delivery. High strength steel can rust. Not an issue to worry about.

Thank you for some nice articles to send some truck owners when they complain about the Cybertruck rusting. ;)

Built in Nov2024.. Delivered 06DEC..

Almost like a mirror. I did no treatment. Only washed as I have done with all my cars..

Maybe they are making running changes..

Seriously? Is this your very first car? And how many pictures do you have to take of the same thing?

This is normal on ALL vehicles. Ignore the rust.
No it’s not normal unless you want it to show that way. My MYP hubs came spotless and they still maintain their luster. The CTs are transported without the wheel covers and the elements eat away at the metal. They can be cleaned and sprayed with lubricant or as in my CT coated with clear coat. That rust becomes a cancer as the years pass by. Here is a pic of my CTs Hubs:

You mean, you keep it in an utterly pristine and dry environment. Damn, that shop looks more like a temperature controlled lab than a garage.

The rust is not an issue at all, not only not a problem, it's basically designed into the drivetrain.

What's it made of? Steel! Steel rusts unless you coat it.

But rust is nature's own coating, once rusted, it's not really an issue.
