I work for Tesla, and pitched the idea of getting a CT over to one of our local brew pubs in Sonoma County CA. Got the idea that it would possible.

Anyone on here local to the North Bay Area?

Anyone here interested in seeing the truck up close and getting Tesla swag?

let me know. I have really enjoyed being able to get up close and personal with the truck… thought others might want the opportunity..

Sonoma sounds perfect (great idea!) but I left California in 2021 after many years of Teslaliscious memories from my 2013 P85+ and my 2017 Model 3. Now I am Teslaless in Albuquerque awaiting my VIN. I would be 100% in otherwise!!

That's great of you. I've had mine for 2 weeks and before that I did enjoy the few I saw up close and thankful for the generosity of the owners who shared. That being said, wow some people are forceful, touchy, disrespectful. Now, I go from A to B, get out, lock it, do my thing and move on. When someone asks, I say sorry and thank you...my cameras have recorded people touching, punching, testing while I'm in a store. Sad what so so many people will do. As for the kids, I absolutely answer their questions and let them look. Once an adult shows up, I'm gone. Best of luck.

I just don't get it. It's not yours, don't touch it. Where do people get the nerve. "Oh a demo showed it being hit with a hammer". Great, when you get your own, you can try that. But this isn't your property, so unless you want your ass kicked, leave it alone.

It’s stainless steel, I thought we wouldn’t have to worry about anyone messing with our car anymore ?

The issue isn't whether it can handle it, the issue is it isn't yours, don't touch it. It's not invincible. People act like door dings and keying would be impossible to damage the truck. I promise both could leave permanent damage. As bad as a normal car? no. But a determined (or negligent) individual can certainly cause more than zero damage with a shopping cart, car door, etc. People thinking they have the right to "test" something that does not belong to them, is really insane.

I might make up some signs for mine. "You are being recorded, feel free to look but please don't touch". One of my worries is some jackass deciding he will test the tonneau, because he saw a picture of a person carefully standing on it. Said jackass will then jump on the tonneau, causing it to buckle.

the good thing is the truck takes it with no marks. Just fingerprints. I did find that if people are lingering around it and looking into the windows the sentinel now sends me alerts, videos and goes into alarm when they touch it. Plays loud sounds, screen turns on and the lights all around it turn on so hopefully it will embarrass them now and they stay away.
