Model 3 rollout had a priority for all legacy Tesla owners. Basically you owned Model S/X/Roadster, you will take delivery first in that area. Model Y rollout is pretty normal I think. Nothing special. Part of it because there wasn't really a production ramp for Model Y like for Model 3 or Cybertruck. It was probably the only Tesla model that went in production and rolled out on time.I think the take rate on the foundation series is lower than they wanted and this could be a way to boost it.
Or it could be high demand and they decided they want to reward loyal shareholders with a scarce product.
Im not familiar with 3 and Y roll outs. Did this happen back then?
