Today I got the drivers window and passenger window tinted.

Went and picked up the truck and drove home. Went inside and the alarm started going off. I went out and the door was slightly open and the window dropped like it does when you open it.

So I thought ok I must not have closed it good. Went inside and a few minutes later same thing happens.

I get inside, it stays shut. Driving also it stays shut.

Just tried the window reset procedure and so far it’s still shut. I left it unlocked this time too.

Anybody else encounter something like this?

Timmy D had a post on this that after a very heavy rain his door was opening by itself mysteriously, so it may be water from the tint in the internals.

Seems like they got too much water inside the door and messed up some electric items like window and door switches.
Yup. That’s probably it. I’d say give it a day or so to dry out and see if it goes away. Congrats on your truck man!!

Thanks! yeah it could be that it needs to dry out!

If I leave it unlocked it doesn’t do it. So something in the lock. Maybe it is damp.

I left the truck unlocked all night and so far today it seems to be fine. Seems like the water theory may have been correct.

While tinting your windows may seem like a very nonchalant task I had some idiot cause $7000 worth of damage to my model X plaid drivers door when he tinted the glass.

When I took it in to Service so that they can fix my door that would no longer shut and wind noise appeared after the tint they said it’s quite common for tint places to fuck up things like this.

im now extremely weary to get any of my other cars tinted.

I did find a very reputable place called Protective Film Solutions in OC.

may take my cars to them since they seem to know their shit

I should have sued the last tint shop that damaged my X…. I still may… bastards
yeah I was nervous about it. I went to my normal place that did my model y and some of my other vehicles. It was their first cybertruck so I figured something may go wrong.

Crazy. I haven’t seen any other owners report that happening after tinting. I’m getting everything tinted on Monday. I’ll check back in after and let you know if any issues arise.

Are we going to ignore the fact that this looks like a very poorly engineering setup???, glass will naturally cach moisture that will eventually drop down the line of any door, sensors susceptible to this should be sealed or isolated.

After Tinted windows, my hazard light was kept on, and the driver's door was kept unlocked by itself. Now my Cybertruck was towed to a service center for 2 days, and there is no update. My model y was tinted in the same place, and they tinted about 5-6 Cybertruck already

In my experience the door issue went away overnight after I left the truck unlocked. Seems that water was in the door from the tinting process and it needed to dry out. Not sure about the hazard lights.
