Hope this doesn't bug anyone, there's a couple other insurance threads but wanted to start one just for Texas as I'm looking for the best company to go with.
Here's a template to share your info (if you want)

Age: 33
Location: DFW Texas
Driving record: no at fault accidents or tickets in the last 6 years (4 years ago got tboned by someone else running a stop sign 100% fault places on them due to Cams)
Marital status: Not married
Drivers @ home: just me
Miles Driven: ~15k
Drive Usage: Pleasure, no commute for work or for work
Level of insurance: 100K, 300k, 100K
Deductible: $1,000
Other insurance impediments: n/a
So far I have gotten these quotes based on the information above.
CompanyMonthly6 Month
Progressive (gave some first time discounts)$197$1184
Geico$245$1470
Costco Connect$405$2430
Direct Auto - State Farm$754$4525

It's mind-blowing how much the rates vary, I'm going to keep doing some searching, but has anyone found something better? I've seen some really good USAA quotes, but I'm not tied to the Military. But I've seen people with 2x the coverage and cheaper quotes, it's kind of annoying :D

Will update as I get more quotes, if anyone could share their experience (or their representative that help them get a good quote) would be greatly appreciated.
My 2022 Model S was with Costco Connect at $250/m, but they bumped the Cybertruck to $405/m "due to price of the vehicle", but it's only a few grand more than my Model S -_-*

I just did! Just added to the list. I had my model 3 with them, but when I got my 22 Model S they quoted me at $475/m and told them to eat crow. But now with the Cybertruck they quoted me at $197/m... I really wish there was rhyme or reason to how they get their quotes.

USAA quoting close to $250/mo @ 8000 miles/yr.

That honestly sounds a bit high from what I've been seeing on USAA quotes. But it varies a lot (as you can tell from my table :D).

Try Tesla Insurance. My current prediction for next month is $260, but it’s assuming I drive > 24,000 miles a year because I’ve been driving a lot since I got the truck. I expect it to come down significantly once it realizes I won’t be driving that much every month. Current safety score is 97.

Four drivers with two being teenagers.

Two questions:

1) Please remind me how do we see the safety score on my Model 3? I thought I couldn’t see that once I had FSD.
2) Is safety score by driver or by car? Meaning, will I have a separate score on my M3 compared to my CT (that I pick up tomorrow!)?

Safety score is by car, so each has its own monthly premium based on the number of miles driving and safety score for that particular vehicle. You can see the safety score in the Tesla app under each vehicle’s “page”, but I think only the account owner can see it. My wife and kids do not see the safety score option for their vehicles in the app.

I will never again go with Tesla insurance, I tried this on my Model 3 Performance....horrible experience.
1) Parked cars on my road would randomly ding me with FCW, even if I was on the other side of the road
2) Ghost cars on my road would randomly ding me with FCW
3) Cars cutting me off in traffic would ding me with FCW
4) Avoiding cars cutting me off (to avoid a crash) would ding me
5) Would get randomly dinged for "following too close" in Dallas traffic jams
6) I'd have to take the turns by my house at 20mph less than the posted speed limit to not get dinged

My rate just kept going up and up to the point where almost every other option was cheaper. So I switched.

After seeing my premium increase because of being dinged for a FWC when there was nothing in the road at night, 3 times. It just felt like a scam. Granted this was right when that ins came out so maybe it's better. But I refuse to ever go back unless they are 1/2 the cost of every other option out there. But I don't want to have to drive like a grandma doing 5-10mph under the speedlimit everywhere I go just to not see my premiums go up.

There are absolutely some instances of FCW that are false-positives, but in the grand scheme of things, it has minimal impact on our scores. With two teenagers, it’s still significantly less expensive than the insurance we had before, so I tolerate it for that reason alone.

$200 a month with Tesla insurance with a Safety Score of 69 :ROFLMAO: .

$5k deductible because I have never caused an accident in 25 years of driving. It was $240/m with a 1k deductible.

But I expect to have to switch away from Tesla insurance eventually because I have already got 4 FCW in 4 days that were completely ridiculous.

For some it definitely works! For me there were better alternatives :)

200$/ at 69? That's impressive.

It’s been a number of years but I moved from high priced California to Houston and my USAA auto insurance TRIPLED in price. I was floored but learned that TX insurance is high. When I moved back to SoCal a few years later my rates dropped way back down.

Houston has a high crime rate, so I can kinda see that? But 3x Cali is bizzare!

I've seen some pretty low Cali quotes, considering how many cars get broke into there.... It's a little confusing lol

I was told the high rates were due to the high incidence of uninsured motorists in Texas but I sure think there would be a lot of them in Cali, too.
