Update: I swung by my Service Center in Bernalillo, NM. They were thinly-staffed but the manager was super helpful. He had just sent a text to another NM owner and was able to look up my info. Truck will take 1-2 days to transit from TX to NM - finding a car carrier is a constraint. Per NM law, we can't select Tesla Insurance yet. Also, your evidence of insurance needs to include the VIN (I was wrong about that. CA didn't/doesn't need it). Therefore, he advised to wait until next week and once I am invited to select a delivery date, then call the insurance and get the CT put on the policy and upload the evidence. Again, this is a NM requirement and might not apply to your delivery in other States. I showed him the SMS I got an hour after I checked the app (I beat the SMS by sheer luck). He used his PC to send me an SMS so I can communicate with him. Very nice, very helpful, had most of the answers to my questions. He indicated that my delivery address will switch from my home to the SC as we get close to the delivery. He also advised to use the "Plaid" (?) function in the Tesla app for final payment - which he said did not have to be made < delivery, my choice. Wiring the money or cashier's checks was a more clunky & time-consuming experience. The Plaid function in the Tesla App acts as a broker between Tesla and your financial institution, linking your routing & account numbers for payment - if you're paying cash, of course - and does not keep any of the data. I hope this is helpful to some of you out there. I expect to pick up the CT on Saturday next week (not this weekend). Oh, the mileage on my CT was currently at 15 miles, FWIW. Ciao.
