What’s the longest wait right now?

I’m like most others — eager to get the CT but, having waited this long, not in a huge rush. What irritates the you-know-what out of me is the inability (or unwillingness) of Tesla to give me a general idea when to expect delivery. Especially after hearing reports that the SC expects a person to take delivery within a couple days of being contacted or they will pass the truck on to the next customer. In my case, we got the VIN 15 days ago, and seven days ago were told by phone by a Tesla rep that the truck was en route to the SC in Lynnwood WA.

So, we booked a flight from AZ (where we spend the winter) in order to be available when the delivery date comes. Five days after being told it was en route, I stopped by the Lynnwood SC and asked if they had an update. The answer: “it’s still at the factory in Texas. You should be getting it in a month or so.”

Excuse me, but what is going on here? I can order a pizza and know when it will be delivered. I had another car shipped from AZ to WA and was able to track its location every mile of the trip, including when the driver stopped outside Vegas to take a leak! Yet a company that’s supposedly one of the most advanced in the world can’t give me a general idea when I will get my vehicle? Whether it takes another day, week or month, just let me know.

This right here! When you are trying to plan things and have things in order you can’t. The silence and lack of knowledge from Tesla is crazy. I like to plan but there has been no way to do so. Tesla could assign me a VIN right now, say I have to pick up Friday or they will pass my truck to someone else and put me back in the queue. How can you plan for that? You have to drop everything to get what you ordered on their time. The lack of communication, knowledge and overall support has been awful. I understand when you are given a window, that might not happen, but let people know so they can plan and have a true ballpark idea. Once we passed the estimated delivery window in March it would have been nice to have some communication of a new timeframe. Now I have no idea. The biggest thing for me on top of all this is people that have ordered after me in other states, talking months after me are getting their trucks. It makes you real salty to see yourself getting passed by from orders way after yours. Stay salty my friends.

They already have, it’s called refreshing and checking the app 10 or more times a day, lol. ?

Today is day 105. I see NC is starting to dole out VINs again, so I am hopeful it won’t be long …. About 5 mins after @BeardedSasquach gets his ….

90 days. Ordered my Cyberbeast on 1/9. Delivery location is going to be in TX.

90 days today. I'm REALLY worried they'll call me while I'm on a business trip later this month. Honestly, Tesla, with no updated estimated delivery ranges and 1-3 day pickup expectations - you're causing stress for your faithful customers. Not necessary.

Day 91 today here in NY. I feel like my VIN is imminent but we'll see. I'm for sure at maximum crankiness.

I'm on Day 104 since my order date on Dec 26 for the Founders Edition. At the time of order, the app said the delivery date was Jan, Feb, or March. I got my Vin on 03/25/2024. I have called Tesla twice in the last 10 days; both times, they said it was in transit to Mt. Kisco, NY. I check the App about every 10 minuets to make sure its working...lol It's like watching paint dry.

In addition, I paid 100% in full for the car when the Vin was issued.

Why did you pay for the CT when the VIN was issued? Did they require you to? Did they say it would speed things up? I am thinking Cashier's Check after I see the truck at the SC.

I am in Iowa and placed my order last week after receiving the invite on Tuesday. 7 days is already killing me.

Has anyone had any luck in receiving a VIN sooner by changing the delivery location to FL, TX, or CA? Also how do you change the delivery location, do you have to change your registration address?

I am Day 82 after configuring and paying the $1,000 deposit. In VA.

Has anyone had any luck in receiving a VIN sooner by changing the delivery location to FL, TX, or CA? Also how do you change the delivery location, do you have to change your registration address?

Good question. It seemed like I had no choice with the App. It did not indicate that paying with a cashier's check was an option. In hindsight, I should've looked into it a little further, but at the moment, it simply seemed like the next step in the process. After a few days, I realized that it was an option. Live and learn....

LOL, 7 days.

You can not change your delivery location. People who have homes or addresses in CA, TX, FL have had success in changing the registration to those states and did end up getting VINs quicker. No guarantees of course though as i think Tesla in factoring in order date and RN a tad when assigning VINs.

Actually, I was able to call and have my delivery address changed to Texas. I'm going to be temporarily relocating there for work, but I have a house in St. Louis. Once they changed the delivery location, I had to go into the app to change my "home" address.
