I called this morning to check on the location of my CyberTruck. As of Wednesday, it was still at GigaTexas waiting to be shipped. When I spoke to the Tesla representative this morning, she told me a shipment had arrived in the night and my CyberTruck was now in Franklin, Tennessee. Further talk about delivery date *I wanted to pick up ASAP* led to a conversation about how the technicians had 30 CyberTrucks to go through and double-check quality control before I could pick-up. So, there are a lot of CyberTrucks at the Tesla service center in Franklin, Tennessee today. :)

That’s gotta be the most I heard another state get besides the big 3! Production ramping up maybe?

I thought so as well. Initially, the lady this morning said she thought I could pickup my Cyber on Sunday afternoon. She would talk to the techs, but, there were alot of CyberTrucks that came in during the night. Call back after lunch and a guy checks for me with the service department and reports back, "Can't pick-up until late next week. The techs have 30 CyberTrucks to disassemble, inspect, and clean-up." Apparently, there is some new mandate on a stringent inspection at the service center before delivery to the customer. This is what I was told. If someone is living near the Franklin, Tennessee Tesla center I guess they could ride by and see? But, I know my CyberTruck is there now and I'm getting closer to seeing it for the 1st time.

Wow disassemble? That’s very interesting I wonder what they’re doing. But glad to hear you’re gonna be getting your CT extremely soon man! When’d you get your VIN and when was config date?

Ordered on 12/28, received my VIN on 4/10. The "disassemble" word kinda raised my eye-brows, but, that is what the salesman said when he came back to my call. The woman also mentioned in the morning call a lot of CyberTrucks had been received. Maybe the Franklin, Tennessee, center is working on inspections for CyberTrucks going to other locations/states? I'm in Alabama, so, I've got to drive 4 hours to get it. I know it is supposed to be a big Tesla service center.

That could definitely be a possibility too if they’re having their techs disassemble them. If I had to guess maybe they’re checking the 48v and harness issue that’s been one of the main problems. But definitely really interesting info.
Good luck and hopefully all goes well on the trip, hope the truck is in perfect condition!

I was in the El Paso SC a few days ago and they had a few trucks for delivery, one of them looked like it was having a bunch of work done and I asked about it. The tech said it needed a software installation. Seemed rather weird to be as it was all opened up with tool bags all over it.

I'm confident that my first Tesla will be everything I've hoped it would! There is nothing else like CyberTruck on the road. Most likely, in my lifetime there will never be such an innovative vehicle again. It has certainly exceeded the hype in my mind from 2019, and that is saying a lot.

Interesting? I can see a "hardware" installation happening, but, I would not understand the need to open up the truck to do a "software" installation unless you're flashing the BIOS on the computer's motherboard itself?

More than likely they can’t talk about what’s being done. Probably under NDA or something of the sort.

Hopefully, the ones just sent aren’t impacted by the recalls folks are talking about. I was at the SC yesterday in Franklin, they had 14 on the lot. My suspicion yesterday, something was up. I kept think, why haven’t folks picked these up? My truck was built on 3/27 and still shows in Austin. (As of yesterday)

What is your VIN number? My last four digits, 7020, puts it on track for an April build I believe? Well, Elon got bent out of shape about the "door fit" issue in Marques Brownlee's video enough to comment about it. He never did comment about the break-down of the CyberBeasts leaving the Tesla stores after delivery. That silence is deafening! By the way, how did my CyberWhip look?
