I have charged up to 95% on my Model Y on road trips, because I needed that extra buffer of a few miles, but what a friggen waste of time. You just sit there for an extra 45 minutes for basically nothing. So @Crissa is making an argument based on what makes sense. You are right, if you 'really' want to test the range of a vehicle (why?) then you have to fill it up and empty it. Most of us drive our cars (ICE or BEV) down to our own threshold of what 'empty' is. What would be 'very' nice would be if the Tesla LR battery chemistry for the 4680 would allow us to safely charge to 100% on a regular basis, but also allow for faster charging to a higher percentage of the capacity. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work that way, and we will just have to become accustomed to getting more like 75% (240 miles on ATs) of the rated range on road trips (10%-85%) to maximize range and charge times.
I guess you didn't read my post: I'm waiting for my Powershare and hope 100% will last until it's done to charge at home.

My CT at dealer at 84% and after 10 days it was at 3% for just 194 miles: ~240 miles fully charged?

And it needed almost 2hrs to finish: too slow?

I'm waiting to install Powershare, already approved by SCE, is it gonna be the same time or longer to charge my CT?

Anyone from Orange County SoCal to Vegas, around 270 miles from my house, in one charge?
Check out this comparison of charging curves developed by Out of Spec. Click to select only trucks. As of now, the CT charging curve nose dives after about 29% state of charge. The Out of Spec people have a CyberBeast and have developed a charging procedure for the shortest time to cover long distances. That is to charge to 30% then leave for the next Supercharger so they stay in the high rate of charge all the time.

The second graph shows how many miles per minute of charge.

https://outofspecstudios.com/charging

With Powershare you should get a flat curve but rate of charge depends on the circuit you have it connected to. Max is 80A/240V or 19.2 kW but that takes a 100A circuit. If you have to put it on a lower amperage circuit, the charge rate will be determined by that (by code, you can only draw 80% of the breaker rating so, for example, a 50 A breaker could only use 40A charging/9.6 kW). The math is simple: divide the number of kWh you need to put into the truck by the charge rate to get the amount of time it will take to charge (will be a bit longer as there are always some losses in the process).

If you want fast charging, the best option at the moment is the Chevy Silverado EV. Higher initial/maximum rate of charge and maintains a high rate longer. Adds miles much faster than any other EV truck at this point. It will have access to Superchargers soon but, until Tesla installs V4 cabinets to power V4 dispensers, it is limited to about 227 kW on Superchargers. However, there are public chargers that will deliver the 350 plus kW it is capable of charging at.

I think that you may be missing our answers.

No need to wait, use a standard 120V wall socket.
A charge from 0 to 50% takes about 20 minutes. Two charges take 40 minutes. Over an hour less than a 0-100%.

You are wasting time charging to 100% at a Supercharger.

I thought Powershare was for using CT as a battery backup for your house. It's not needed to charge at home. And also, never (rarely) charge to 100%. It is hard on battery and it takes forever.

Best way I have heard this explained is to:
Imagine an empty parking lot and the car is the electron (charge) when you ask it to find a parking space its very quick and easy.

Now imagine how much slower it is if the parking lot is 50% full and you need to find a space?

Now imagine how much slower it is if the parking lot is 80% full and you need to find a space?

Now at 95%... etc

You’re not going to make it on one charge no matter what you do…..

No problem charging CT from 0 to 100%. or 5 to 100 which was my average charge range. Did a 9 day trip and the most time it took to charge was 40 minutes to 100%. A few days were at 118 degrees at time of charging. Go out there and use it!!
