VINs aren't given in order. People have been getting VINs in 8k range, and I just got a VIN today and it's 72xx

100% correct vins don't go in exact sequential order, however it gives a rough estimate of weekly production along with flyovers. I highly doubt they make trucks from 7700 to 7800 and then next batch is 2500 to 2600.

Doesn’t seem VINs are assigned sequentially during manufacturing either. I’m a 68XX VIN with manufacturing date 4/11. I saw another one with a 75XX VIN and manufacturing date 4/9. ?

Woke up ten minutes ago, checked for a VIN, nothing. Started to read this thread to see if anybody else got one and while I was reading I got a notification that I now have a VIN!

I had been on the fence about getting the PowerShare install because we want to move out of this house. Just yesterday, I confirmed with our local contractor that I wanted to wait on the install. I understand he let Tesla know, then today, I was asked to confirm insurance in the app. And there was my VIN! No date yet, but I'm excited.

Over 7700 VINs at this point!
