What I would like to do is put A/S tires on mine. The only ones I've seen as a recommended possibility are the Michelin Defender LTX. Anybody has thoughts on these? I am looking for improved range, better handling on the road, and better snow handling.

Thanks.

A.
I hope that Michelin will create a Cross Climate 2 or 3 big enough for the CT. I will definitely be going with an All Weather tire when these stock tires wear out.

That is a solid tire though. I installed them on my Highlander Hybrid and they were great.

Thanks for starting this thread, OP.

This is going to become even more important when the non-foundation version comes out. I am expecting the stock wheels and tires to look way cheesier than these 35’s (which will of course be available as an upgrade, which isn’t going to be cheap).

The question then becomes, for people who want different wheels and tires, are you able to pick something out that is better for your use case and better looking than factory for less money?
Current Intel suggests the stock all seasons will be 35" too. But yes ?

I really wish they did cross climates bigger. I got the CUV ones and got the biggest I could get and they will be slightly smaller diameter that my stock x tires

Do you have an urgent need to swap them out now? You may want to wait until Tesla releases their A/S tires later this year.
I should probably wait indeed. I do have a road trip planned for which a bit of extra range would be helpful... And, well, who knows when Tesla will really start selling their A/S tires...

For those of us where range is key, I for one plan to wait until the all season tires are being offered as a standard option before configuring my cybertruck. The extra 30 miles (hopefully) would be extremely helpful for the frequent long trips we take - it’s not just the extra potential range, it’s being able to stay within the 80% charge range. And I just can’t stomach buying the truck now with all-terrain tires of which I have no need, and have to spend another $2000 for all season tires later on. Fingers crossed that all season tires become an option soon - and that soon is my definition of soon, not Tesla’s usual ‘soon’.

I wonder how many of us are waiting for the All Season tire option? anyone want to setup a poll? We are bound to get statistically accurate data free of bias on this forum. :giggle:

Where are you headed to, especially in California, it's hard to run out of Supercharger range.

Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. For example, I want to go from Page (Lake Powell) to Canyon de Chelley, and then to Gallup. It is over 250 miles between superchargers...

Probably when their tire supplier makes them. Or when the volume of Cybertruck sales are high enough that they can hit their minimum purchase agreements without having warehouses full of unsold tires. It costs a lot of time and money for a tire manufacturer to bring a new tire to market. They will be insanely expensive unless the volume is high enough and tires are a perishable item to a certain degree.

Put 54 PSI (cold) in the All-Terrain tires and keep your cruising speeds moderate and ride height preference on "Lower" and you will be surprised how far you can go with zero stress.

I'm not really seeing gaps that big. Could just be the routing I chose.
There's definitely Superchargers in-between the ones listed.
Looks like a fun trip. I've done the SLC to Albuquerque to ATL in a Motorhome before. We backtracked into Las Vegas though.

Have Fun!

I bet you will have no problem selling a set of like-new, take-off A/T tires here on the forum to another, and local to you, user.

Tesla did a lot of engineering into the tires. TBD if any range gain from a more pavement-oriented tread pattern, like offerings from Michelin. Looking forward to seeing data...

I don’t want to hijack this thread, but it is related. Does anybody know what the minimum recommended tire pressure is for these tires if going off-road (sand in particular, you generally have to go sub 20).

I don't expect that these are going to deflate in the shapes that you expect at low pressures.

From what I've heard, people are only deflating by 10-20 psi.

EV tires tend to be designed with stiffer sidewalls and don't just flatten out like classic radials.
Sub 20psi may just make them wobbly.

Very different route. I want to go directly from Page to Canyon de Chelley, which is 3 hours. If I go the route you seem to be suggesting, which is via Flagstaff, it would be over 5 hours. I'll do it if I have to, but would rather not. I am hoping that the lodge where I would stay in Chelley would let me at least plug to a 120V outlet. Since I plan to spend a night there that should give me the margin I need...
