woohoo!
I'm assuming it's still the 35 inches or can we go smaller with 20 inch rims? I don't want to but I'm wondering if a smaller tire can help on range

Well... I had a set of the Michelins delivered to me today. Planning to do some testing. Might see if there is a YouTuber who wants to create content. If you know one near Tallahassee, FL, send them my way.

Will either be selling the Goodyears (<2k miles) or the Michelins based on the results. Wish me luck.
would be great if you were able to compare range of AT tires vs the Michelin all seasons, by reproducing the same run at the same speed (and control for all other variables, such as temp, celestial alignment, and of course the average wind speed of a fully unladen cybertruck…) to see if they afford you greater range. Inquiring minds want to know…

I don't have the resources to control all variables but plan to repeat a route that includes multiple road types a couple of times before and after ideally on the same day with the understanding that gravitational pull from the sun and moon as well as the weight of electronS in the battery at various SOC will be factors to consider over time.

Having seen other such attempts, I realize that I will get many well intentioned suggestions of how to do it better and will accept them in the spirit they are offered.

Get a decibel meter so you can do readings with both tires in cabin at different speeds as well!

I am highly interest too! I have been a Michelin Defender guy for a long time (I can’t remember the tire that the Defender replaced but that was a great tire too). I have had them on a Subaru Baja, Nissan Pathfinder, Subaru Outback, and a Honda Ridgeline. It’s a fantastic tire. Its greatest asset is its durability. My Colorado roads are hard on tires and the amount of miles you can put on them. Before the Defenders, I would always get less than half the range I was suppose to get. I would always get this huge warranty payback from Discount Tire. I fully expect the Goodyear Wranglers to get 20,000 miles before they are toast.

I have one on my Android phone and am playing with it and taking some baselines. I plan to record full routes in various conditions before and after. I know that my readings will probably not be exact compared to an expensive meter but I'm more interested in the delta (if any). I am considering mounting it near my had because that's where my ears are :)

On a side note, has anybody taken apart the headrests to see if there is any equipment for noise canceling in there? One of the Tesla bigwigs said it would have it in a YouTube video. Maybe the Jay Leno video.

I think it would be less range since the tire would be spinning faster with the smaller tire.

Definitely would love to hear your opinion and see some pictures of the Michelin mounted. I live in MN and the good year at tires suck in the snow, have always been a Michelin guy
Apparently the Good Year Wrangler CT tires have a stiffer sidewall for CyberTrucks.

The stiffer sidewalls would make it less able to get thru soft stuff. Deflating them wiould be less effective with harder sidewalls for lower rolling resistance,

I'm in Florida with the Michelin Defender LTX Platinums with about 6.3k miles including a round trip between FL and VT over the summer. They replaced my OEM Goodyears at about 1.8k.

I don't have official sound meter data to compare but both my wife and I feel that the Defenders are both quieter and smoother than the OEMs.

Based on my observations when new, the height of the tires were the same and the profiles very similar.

When new, the Defenders had about 14/32 tread. They currently average about 12.5/32. Frankly I don't know if that's great or bad.

Oddly, the efficiency seems to be an inconsistent factor of speed. The following charts via TeslaFi represent %efficiency and Wh/mile efficiency.
