The light doesn't turn on when plugged in.
My truck is currently in Paramus for the light bar installation, among other things. I’m curious what steps they left for you to complete on your install? I’ve read some require soldering under the roof applique and others simply required a plug and play behind the B pillar. Hopefully yours get rectified ASAP.

It wasn't wired in so I had to bring it to a third party. I'm not handy...

It’s plug and play. Ask the service advisor to email you instructions.

I read about this "Gen 2" as well and was curious if there are details?

I also read about the SC Lightbar install being stopped after the SC investigated the Rearview Video Mirror install - found/caused? delamination - which makes me wonder if I need to remove mine berfor scheduling the install.

Has anyone with a Review Video Mirror installed had a successfull lighbar install?

I received my truck back last night from Tesla Paramus and when I checked the final connection in the B pillar was completed but the light bar was not recognized.

This morning I removed the roof panel to see if the harness was soldered in and to my surprise they literally soldered half of the connection and left the other half bare (see pic). I imagine this was the case with yours as well. I sent them the updated R2 bulletin and they confirmed that was the correct installation instructions.

At this point I will most likely solder the final connection myself as I am not driving 2 hours back and forth to the service station only for them to hold onto my truck for 5 more days and botch the install once again (needed to vent a bit).

Cheers!

Did you use the method described in this thread without needing a second email to get the install? I had a service appointment at Paramus for the lightbar using the method in this thread and they said I needed a second email (the first one said I was in the queue which I showed them but that wasn't sufficient enough).

I had added it as part of a previous service as a shot in the dark and was told no, I would be emailed when it was ready. After that service visit they needed to schedule me to come back since a part that they replaced on the truck was damaged. They then added the light bar and wheel covers to that subsequent service ticket without me requesting. I was skeptical but they indeed had it in stock and installed it.

I am going back later this week in hopes that I can educate them into properly installing the light bar where I only need to connect the wiring harness. I’m not holding my breath.

Happy to report that the service guys in Paramus completed the install properly after I walked them through the updated instructions. They were kind and helpful throughout the back and forth.

How are you meaning “plugged in”? As the lightbar does not work without the SC soldering the harness in the roof and either you or they also connect the RH B pillar (right side camera cover) harness plug.
It’s just odd to me that your lightbar is just defective and not even middle or ditch lights or both function once ALL harnesses were connected and activated in the menu under lights or under mods & outlets.
So either it is really defective or the SC did not solder the harness correctly or the RH B Pillar connection was still not made - which is really supposed to be up to the customer, but like mine and others on here, some SC’s are actually making all of the connections and just leaving the lightbar covered with the blackout tape awaiting customer removal and console activation via the outlets.

Huh? Maybe i am not following the storyline, so the SC first installed the lightbar without any connections & later you went back and had to walk them through those connections via the service bulletin that is very public online?
