How to successfully request the Off-Road Lightbar from Tesla (FS Beast Only)

Now that Foundation series has ended in Canada, there are no signs of being able to get a lightbar again. I just hope they scale up this installation so it comes faster

Huh? Maybe i am not following the storyline, so the SC first installed the lightbar without any connections & later you went back and had to walk them through those connections via the service bulletin that is very public online?

Prior to installing I had provided the updated instructions and asked for them to confirm this was going to be their process (which they did). Afterwards they installed it and did half of the soldering required while leaving the wiring harness connected in the B pillar.

After realizing what they left me for the “final connection” I was pretty upset and was prepared to solder it myself to avoid more aggravation. The service station called me in response to my app messages literally while I had the truck powered down and apart with soldering iron in tow. To their credit they said they would like to educate themselves on their errors and asked if I could come in to show them. To your point, I pulled up the very public service bulletin in their lobby and walked them through what was done incorrectly. After all of that they completed the install correctly and I was able to make the final connection in 5 minutes in the parking lot happily. Pain in my ass but the dealership made it right in the end so not too upset about it. Hopefully others benefit from their learning experience.

Without any messaging from Tesla that the wheel covers were available, I stopped by the Merritt Isle SC yesterday and they gave me a set. They also chuckled when I asked for my lightbar. They said they’ve only seen one so far and it was an engineering demo.

Here's a question for you, in July I had Blitzen wrapped and Ceramic coated, how much of an impact will that have on the adhesion to the windshield? I feel that is a legitimate concern.

Another success. Sitting at service center now whilst they install the lightbar. I took delivery in September. I tried getting it via a service message and exchange via a service tech and was rejected before seeing this note about requesting via the the method above. Submitted via app on 12/30 and scheduled for 02/05.

A Urethane adhesive is used to attach the light bar to the windshield. If you used any type of coating… (Especially a ceramic coating) and it’s not cleaned off entirely, you could have an adhesion problem.

Same. I bundled some other minor warranty issues, windshield wiper, creaking seat bases, loose (missing) clip on the headliner, and a loosening top window trim. Plus the lightbar. Over a month wait for the service appointment.

I got no response on the lightbar, until I asked in the app if they wanted to keep the truck overnight tomorrow to let the install cure longer. Then they said "Not in stock, you have to wait for your email".

A bit annoyed. But apparently my wheel covers are finally in.

I ask why because the difference between both model is the suspension and the engine, anything else is the same, somebody, same seats, some everything. The service advisor laughs and agree but he said it doesn't fit. Any recommendation?

Yes. The OEM light bar is a FS CB Only accessory. If you search the form you’ll find many months ago that this was confirmed because one SC attempted to put it on a FS AWD and it simply doesn’t work it’s either hardcoded or software locked to only recognize a car that is coded as an FS CB.

This also calls into Strong question the assertion that folks are making that they think it will eventually be on sale from the Tesla shop. Highly unlikely in my opinion it was supposed to be a perk for those of us who sprung for the most expensive option.

But things could change or this could be completely wrong. I don’t think so you’re just another data point proving it.

Adding that they also did the wiring for me. Only thing I had to do was remove the black sticker across the lightbar
