It can take up to 50 miles for it to calibrate; they're starting to do this in the factory for the 3 and Y but... Cybertruck is behind on that. Also calibration will sometimes need to be redone after cameras are moved or replaced.

What you want is something that's a nice, simple road or freeway with lots of variation but little traffic.

I'd link you to like, a Dirty Tesla video - he's had it vary from 7 miles to many. But it's not like he did a video on that specifically, they're just a one-off statement talking about when he got each vehicle.

Best of luck getting them calibrated!

Ok, so finally picked up the new 2025 base CT (core wheels, gray interior) - did the basic walk around - wound up leasing it for 36mo/12k miles (got $1k referral/loyalty credit, $7500 incentive baked into lease), vehicle looked clean, accepted it - road test checked out....but, despite having the one month FSD trial, despite accepting all the FSD terms under Autopilot, and allowing the cameras to calibrate for 30 miles, there is NO FSD AVAILABLE.

That means no grey or blue steering wheel icon! Going to try to get service to take a look at it tomorrow without an appointment. Even tried recalibrating the camera - it will do basic autopilot stuff (but won't maintain lanes).

Sales dept texted me to say vehicle can need up to 50 miles to calibrate, but I have 67 miles on the odometer.... Any ideas out there?????? Help!!

PS - I've driven dozens of different cars, still far and away the best (and most unique) driving experience ever had.

I found it takes a full day before they activate it. You should be good now.

I’m experiencing this same (or similar) issue. My software is set to v12 (2024.44.300) but the truck says the software is up to date every day for the last week. FSD option greyed out despite FSD purchase. I’m out of town on business this week but I’ll need to resolve when I’m back.

I’d really appreciate if anyone figures out the solution, if they would report it back here. Thank you!

Well that's because that's the non FSD version. You just have to wait for the update.

Right but how long does it usually take for the truck to get an update? It hasn’t updated since taking delivery a week ago and that software version is several versions old.

Seems odd that the truck says “your software is up-to-date as of <today>” which is objectively false. Seems similar to what others are experiencing here

Make sure ADVANCED is selected on the update option. Other than that it can be anywhere from a day to a few weeks. There's no way to call it. One day you'll wake up and it will be available. However, if it's over a month then I might make a call. Until then just go to the software page each day to check. It will only attempt to check once every 24 hours. So don't bother about attempting to forcing it to check as there's no known way around it.

All of the above is true for me too. I was told by a Tesla rep that the software updates go to trucks in batches and I just need to wait.

Update: I set the Software Update Preference to Advanced and it downloaded 2024.45.32.10. I don't know if changing that setting is what made the difference, but FSD is enabled now.

I wouldn’t worry too much about parts, I expect Tesla will make another vehicle on this chassis to amortize the castings and other CapEx further. Hoping for an SUV or an adventure van.

Yep - must be enabled when car is in PARK which is how I did it - otherwise it's greyed out in the settings menu. Service dept told me if it's not activating tomorrow, then bring it by.

Let me just say how impressed I am with this car (did overnight demos before I bought it) -- > my biggest concern now is that Tesla will stop making the C/T or another model very close to the experience, or we will need repairs and parts will have long delays or be unavailable..... As others have said, I think we're all lucky to be living in a time when we have this kind of technology available in a car/truck.

They would sell more, if they only could get people to come in and test drive them. I wasn't even considering a CT - had a model Y and went in to test drive a model X - but then I drove the CT, and it ruined me for even considering an X. 2 weeks later, I'm driving a CT off the lot.

just installed 2024.45.32.10 which has FSD v13.2.6
Will check tomorrow a.m. and see if the FSD not available glitch has been fixed.
PS. Tesla sent me a message today stating that I have a FSD trial expiring April 6 (about 8 weeks from now) - was only expecting a month of free FSD.
