Photography from a public sidewalk or public road onto private property is 100% legal because the objects in question are visible from public areas! There is no expectation of privacy when the object in question is visible in public.
Having said that, it's a double edged sword and I bet his neighbors would love a taste of their own medicine. Say, thermal imaging livestream of their bedroom playing 24/7 on YouTube? With a yard sign QR code to let everyone in on the action?

Something tells me the cops would be called again by the same people lol

What about walking over, knocking on the neighbor's door, and talking?
What would that accomplish? They have already established themselves as hostile, so a face to face interaction would seem counterproductive. Dangerous, even.

I don't know about dangerous. Sure I guess. Some common sense conversation seems to work for me rather than from afar or involving third parties like police or the internet. I know they did, but being the bigger person has always set the tone for me.

Wow he/she actually talked to me about it. I kind of feel crappy now for calling the police.

This is not rocket science… there is a button to open the cover.. vehicle still operates with cover open
Don’t leave valuables in open bed when cover is open in front of your house and nosey neighbors

If I taped it to my rear window wouldn't the vault block it? Plus I spoke to a police officer and they advised me to place it in the front window.

You live in a very different neighborhood than I do.

Yep. Very rural.

But I have lived in a suburbian HOA hellhole for a few years. Learned quickly that absolutely no-one else wanted to be a cohesive, functional neighborly unit. Living within smelling distance of your neighbors is a bad idea.

And anyone who brings the police down on your doorstep for simply existing is a sure sign of an absolute sociopath.

Just pointing out the extremely low likelihood of being able to reason with someone who makes their first step as a new neighbor to call the police for a brand new vehicle being parked in someone else's driveway.

They saw the "controversial" Cybertruck sitting in someone else's driveway, and decided to purposefully cause a problem where there wasn't one.

In my former neighborhood, my next-door neighbor was bothered by my barking dogs. Annoying I know, but this was only during broad daylight, the dogs came inside at night. The neighbor never once thought to just walk over and talk to me about it, but instead kept calling the police who refused any action, since it wasn't a violation.

Then (on 9/11/01 actually) they called animal control, alleging abuse. When the officer got there, we showed them our well-provisioned outdoor kennels, and told them how we adopted a stray puppy and then a blind rescue. He ended up in tears and giving us hugs, but the neighbor's dog was running loose and he gave them a ticket instead. :ROFLMAO:

When I moved to a new house, I took my business card with my cell number to every adjoining property, introduced myself, and told them to call if the dogs were ever a bother. Never had an issue. ?‍♂

Yeah I guess I don't have that problem. Just the thought of having to reason is not something I do. Just be me and nice and helpful. Reasoning sounds like arguing or debating. That's no fun.

Very rural about 1200 people in town. I think I know most of them. If someone did that they likely aren't from around here. If they did, we would welcome them into the community. People so nice ya feel bad for being a jerk.

Sorry your town ain't like my town.

Only real answer here is to establish dominance by seducing her husband and expanding your territory over two households. Rinse and repeat until you own the block.

Whos laughing now?

You live in an exceedingly rare town then. Cherish it, and guard it with everything you can muster.

Sorry to hear that. Some neighbors are just crap : [

First day into a neighborhood we moved into the old lady next door called the cops on our dog barking (middle of the day). We framed that notice and put it on the wall as a welcome to the neighborhood ; )
A few weeks and we found out our dog wasn't even that much of a barker for the neighborhood. It was just an unfriendly person.

Her kids eventually ripped down the fence between us and her. They didn't tell us, our great dane was in the back yard, I wasn't home, apparently they almost pissed themselves, and I had to rush home. I had told them I wasn't willing to replace the fence for a few months. It was technically on my property and was not falling down or apart. I told them they had to put it back up on the property line, I didn't want it on my property anymore (their dad had previously put it almost 2' over the line so they could fit an RV).
Never got a nice word out of that lady...
