Hey yawl.

So im about to go ahead and finance a all wheel drive here in TX. I am looking for reduced price options, demo vehicles etc. Some questions.

1. We can reject the booked vehicle if we find too many issues from the demo runs correct ?
2. The difference between foundation and all perks etc are not worth the extra 20k from what I can see. However I do want to know if the non foundation ones come with the powershare outlets also? They mention it all in the foundation, but there is not even an option to upgrade to powershare outlets in the cab, i know that the home powershare upgrade is available to buy.
3. What are your experiences with ex demo vehicles? All good ?
4. What should I be looking out for on delivery? Any major issues that would warrant rejecting delivery?
5. Are the all terrain tires worth it or should I just get the regular ones and upgrade later ?

Thanks

AFAIK, you must pay in full prior to delivery due to Texas dealership laws.

The interior/bed outlets are standard.

I was not given a choice of tire. The AT tires are fine but AS tires will be quieter and have a range bump.

@Alitech Congrats on making the decision to purchase a CT. Overall these are good questions but despite any answers you receive on here, it may be a good idea to also ask your Houston Tesla team.

1. We can reject the booked vehicle if we find too many issues from the demo runs correct ?
You can always reject a vehicle if it does not meet your standards however rescheduling another VIN may take additional time. Make sure you point out every concern and the Tesla team will do their best to address it. BTW if they say anything close to the service team will take care of the concern post purchase, check with the service team first prior to taking the delivery team's answer. The delivery team isn't always knowledgeable of what can and can't be fixed.

The $20k Foundation Series premium does not immediately equal to $20k worth of extra products or features but it will mean there are no additional monthly subscription fees post purchase such as FSD or LTE internet. All CT variations includes the same outlets.

3. What are your experiences with ex demo vehicles? All good ?
My only experience in purchasing a demo vehicle was a 2014 Model S. Everything went smoothly however your mileage may vary as Tesla feels like a different company today compared to 2014.

4. What should I be looking out for on delivery? Any major issues that would warrant rejecting delivery?
TesBros has a good CT delivery checklist you can print and take with you. Do not let any eagerness to take delivery in get the way if you have any concerns about the CT during delivery. Reject the vehicle if you are not comfortable with the delivery team's answers. Mine has extended rattling issues the service center cannot easily fix. I'm on the 12th service appointment since April 2024.

5. Are the all terrain tires worth it or should I just get the regular ones and upgrade later ?
IMO the all terrain tires are worth it only if you decide to keep the stock wheels since the wheel covers are different between AT and Core tires. I prefer the look of the AT covers to the Core version. As others have said, the Core tires are slightly quieter.

On making purchase, when are prices going to drop more? So far it’s been a little more discount, but still hanging on. ?

Sorry guys, thanks so much for your responses. I have another question on the tax credit.

I am trying to configure the options on the track, to qualify for the tax credit, do I need to make the price less than80k including all options and upgrades? The tax pushes it over 80k though, not sure what other peoples experiences have been with the tax credit so far.

MSRP of all physically attached options as delivered from the factory needs to be under $80k. Tires or interior will exceed it. FSD will not.

Tesla runs the VIN and your SSN through the IRS portal at time of sale/delivery. That confirms eligibility (other than the income limits which can use this year or last year).
