I had a terrible experience too and there is no excuse for them to put their s. Together at this point. Yes the car is nice and everything but it is not free for sure so we have every right to have high expectations.
They are insufferable, I’m sorry but the get a Zero for their service and communication and all.

can you please let me know if they worked through the issues you had? Makes me nervous that they won’t!
Yes, so far all the issues I've had, pre-delivery, at delivery and post delivery have been addressed and corrected. It wasn't always on my expected timeline. Patience with the issues and solutions is the toughest struggle.

Can they even fix panel warps? Thank you for responding. Yeah pretty upset honestly!

Sorry to hear that.
Hopefully they get everything fixed up for you and this will be a funny anecdote compared how awesome it ends up being.

Tesla experience is the worst. They have the worst customer service. Try getting a hold of a person to speak with. The Cybertruck is my last Tesla. Once they are passed on the kids as their learner vehicles, we will buy a Rivian or Lucid. Service may be just as bad, but I'm done with Tesla. My experience of getting a light bar installed has been a nightmare. They can't even follow their own service manual which said Mount and Solder Only. Took 4 different Tesla service center visits before one finally said they were wrong and will solder it for me.
As someone who also has a rivian I can tell you at least in SoCal it’s an absolute disaster. 5 month waits to get in. Had 17 service appointments on my R1T. Many repeat issues.

The motor whine you are describing is normal. The CTs front motor sounds different than other Teslas you've owned.

So, I took delivery of my Cyber on February 28th at the Irvine center in OC/CA. and let me tell you, Tesla delivery suck, they suck so bad, that I cannot recommend Tesla to anyone, (full disclosure, I have had 3 Teslas, and my security position is full on Tesla, I'm a massive fan of the company) but he company suck.

You cannot buy an $80K car and get not even a bottle of water or a cup of coffee when you take delivery, call me old school, but having some people "take care of you" is freaking peak human value and high quality of life, this is not, sucks ass.

The car is full of issues, alignments, inside trims off, a bolt came out while I'm driving, cracks and sounds from the dashboard, weird ultra high wind noises on speeds close to 80mph (annoying, can't hear anything) a bizarre motor whinning (other than the typical whine, which I love)... so on so forth, I, insisted to see someone before I took delivery and all that guys said: oh, take it home and open a service center issue, which I was going to punch him in the face for being so nonchalant and un-engaged....
I came home, I opened a ticket, now they coming on Tuesday to look and "fix things", so like I said, no honeymoon for the cybertruck....

My Tesla 3 2018 at the time was better than this, I'm sorry in this day and age, at that price, a little effort goes a long way, if Tesla doens't fix this car, I'm taking them to court, no joke, I have no elasticity on this one!!!!

this is the most Un-American, American Made product I got.

I dunno if a lot of people had had or are having similar issues.

FYI my Vin is in the 66K and more.

2 pics are just examples of that outrageous sloppiness.

Your frustration is very understandable. However, keep a few things in mind. First the delivery is subject to the location. Even the best of companies have certain spots that don't shine well. I have taken delivery twice in the last 6 months and for the most part it went well. More clear communication on the process would have been helpful and having someone that was actually familiar with the CT would have helped even more. Many of the customer service folks could barely tell me how to work the CT. They knew all about the cars, but I guess they weren't really trained on the CT.

Second, the panel gaps and alignments are not normal. They supposedly had worked that issue out last summer. Having said that they won't give you a different truck unless they can't fix it. From what I have seen they can fix the issue in most cases. He was right to tell you open a service ticket, that's the only way it will be taken care of outside of you refusing the truck on the spot. Once you took delivery it is a service call.

The "bolt" that you found is a panel clip. Not a real issue in general, but when you pay that kind of money for the vehicle you would hope that it would come in one piece. From the sounds of it with all of the creaking the dash facia board may not have been put in correctly and the creaking is partially due to that clip not being in place. That dash should be solid. It's a 5 minute fix and hopefully it solves your creaking problem. Take a look at the video here when we pulled the dash off of my CT and you'll see what I mean.

The whine in the CT is a bit louder than the cars in general. However, it should not be unbearably loud. When you take it in for service the tech will ride with you to make sure it is normal. Or you can just post the video with sound here and most folks will be able to tell you if it sounds right or not.

Try not to get too frustrated. Drive the truck, get the bugs worked out or else you will get a new truck. Trust me when I say once you're done with the disappointment and frustration that you will learn to love your new vehicle. It's a solid machine.

Yes, over 70 the noise gets loud. Some louder than others. From what I can tell it comes from the roof area where the pointy part is at the top. I have thought about putting some weather stripping up there to see if that would help as there is a pretty good gap up there which is probably causing the noise. FYI one of the reasons for the gap is for the Tesla OEM lightbar. It sits up there. Once installed the noise gets a little better, but kind of shifts around.

  1. My Airwave module has been unable to adjust left/right since day one.
  2. The driver’s door does not sit flush, but it closes perfectly and does not leak.
  3. There’s a perfectly-straight, untextured line all along the left rear quarter panel.
  4. The tonneau won’t fully close most of the time.

No one else had noticed any of these issues, and they detract not one iota of joy from driving it.

First of all, thank you so much for taking the time and writing me so much information; because I did feel so much better after reading your post. The funny thing is that I've seen your video about a month ago because I was looking around for cybertruck stuff and your video popped up. I'm glad that everyone in this community feels that all these things will be worked out and that I do agree the truck is so bad ass. I freaking love it. I've taken many test drives, and I loved it every time; and I love the truck so much and it makes me so happy but these things irk me given the price and the level that Tesla should have been at by now. So basically they can change everything, and all the body panels that are warped, on the driver side, the large rear panel, that is the fender and the side basically has a warp that is totally visible, the top line isn't even straight.... the demo cars I've driven were much more perfect than this! that clip that fell, was from the inside roof trim, wasn't from the dash. also when I go over a "curb" like into a parking lot or something, there is a weird sound coming out of the quarter window form the front passenger side, like due to body flex I think... but anyways, thank you so much again!
