Q Mats - Cybertruck Glovebox Gun Mat Review

I recently received my Q Mats Cybertruck Gun Mat, a custom made pistol tray designed specifically for your Cybertruck glovebox. I was so impressed with the design, quality, and utility that I offered to write up a review, which is something I normally don’t do. I’m very opinionated which if you follow me on X (@techtotesla) you'd know that, and honestly, a bit much for most people, so writing reviews really isn’t my thing. But this? This deserved a few minutes of my time because it’s that good.

First off, the mat comes packaged in a nice black box, simple but elegant. You know, that classy but still a manly feel, you'll know when you see it come in the mail. It's that smooth matte black finish that screams, open me!

I have my Atlas EOS laid out in this thing, as shown in the photos below, and let me tell you... it fits perfectly. I’m talking precision engineering here, this design was specifically created for my Atlas EOS using precision measurements I took with a caliper and sent to Q Mats to ensure that every contour and curve aligns flawlessly. The fit is snug but not restrictive, with just the right amount of clearance to make retrieving the gun effortless. I specifically requested a little extra room to fit my fingers in to grab the spare magazine and slide down around the pistol grip, as shown below.

The owner of Q Mats was incredibly receptive to my requests, making this exactly as I requested. That attention to detail is what sets this apart from any generic gun mat or holster I’ve ever seen. It’s not just functional, it’s a statement and a work of art tailored to my specific needs.

The quality is off the charts. The material feels durable, with a premium, firm texture that keeps the Atlas EOS and its magazine securely in place, even on bumpy roads. It’s clear Q Mats uses premium materials that can handle the rigors of daily use or, in some cases, the occasional offroad adventure in the Cybertruck. The black matte finish complements the sleek, futuristic look of both the Cybertruck and my Atlas EOS, creating a cohesive, badass aesthetic that I absolutely love. It’s not just a gun mat; it’s a statement piece for your glovebox.

Utility wise, this thing is a game changer. The design maximizes the Cybertruck’s glovebox space which is notoriously tricky to use effectively. It holds my larger frame Atlas EOS and a spare magazine perfectly, so smaller frame guns will fit without concern. There’s no rattling, no shifting, and no worry about damaging the finish, plus the extra finger room I requested lets me grab what I need intuitively, whether I’m headed to the range or need to act fast. It delivers that kind of practicality that is rare, and it’s a design that feels like it was made for someone who demands only the best.

What makes this mat so awesome is how it blends form and function seamlessly. It’s not just about holding a gun, it’s about enhancing the entire experience of owning a Cybertruck and a high end pistol like the Atlas EOS. Also, I have to do a big shoutout to Atlas Gunworks for crafting such a badass 2011! The Atlas EOS deserves nothing less than an equally attractive and high end display like the Q Mats Cybertruck Gun Mat. I’m picky and I mean really picky... but this mat exceeded my expectations in every way.

With over 22 years of experience in the private sector and as the owner of an arms company, I can confidently say that the Cyberbeast/Cybertruck offers alternative locations that provide better accessibility and security for firearm storage. That being said, the craftsmanship on your requested setup is commendable, and they did an excellent job in bringing your vision to life. Everyone needs an Atlas and a Cyberbeast.

I wish there was a hard button for the glove box like ony 18 MS. Putting a weapon in the CT glovebox takes longer to retrieve, esp2if you aren't in the drivers seat.

No doubt, I respect your opinion that this is certainly not the best or recommended location to store a gun for quick access in a real life situation. It is just one of many locations that are possible and for many it is just a show piece. It also is not necessarily a bad location to store it either.

For me, I keep my custom p365 in the under seat tray for quick grab access. I am currently looking for a better location to store it in the truck that is quick access and meets legal standards for being "securely encased" as Jon Gutmacher of floridafirearmslaw.com would put it.

However, in the mean time, until I find a better location, I enjoy putting a ridiculously expensive handgun in my glove box just to put it on display and it works for me and is a nice trick with the motorized tray.

To further drive this point, I also mounted one of my Sig MPX's in my frunk. Is that tactically wise, hell no. Why would I want to exit my vehicle to get to my primary weapon in a tactical situation? You wouldn't, but I also don't end up in those situations and did it anyway because it looks cool and I have 2 Sig MPX's. Why? Because I want to.

If I ended up in a situation where I needed that level of firepower in a response to a situation, then I'm on the wrong side of town and shouldn't be there to begin with. Having access to 2 other handguns inside the truck should be sufficient in a response situation. I've been deployed twice overseas in firefights, I know how fast things can go down and how long you have to get to a primary weapon. At the end of the day, most people aren't looking for that and typically store weapons in a vehicle in far worse locations or methods. This one is aesthetically pleasing and functional, albeit not optimal for emergency access.

At the end of the day, it's clear that I like to spend money on toys, however I'm all ears for better mounting locations for realistic locations to store a handgun for functional/tactical access. Currently I'm contemplating the frontside of the center console, underneath the cup holders. Using a magnetic mount, open access, no strap, but I don't believe that meets standards for "securely encased".
