Other negatives that I’ve experienced are:Even though I have my wheel covers, I do like the hub covers. I was using 3D printed ones until my wheel covers came in. The 2 shortfalls of the wheel covers are that they are susceptible to curb rash and cover the valve stem. Hub covers don't have either issue.
1. they can start to pop off in deep snow or sand. If you don’t check them then they will later pop off at highway speeds.
2. The internal ring and the outer cover won’t line up well if the tire itself was not put onto the rim with the circumferential scallops properly lined up. This means you must install the ring first and then the cover. Depending on the individual wheel and tire orientation the wheel cover clips might be juxtaposed with the ring’s and make subsequently separating the two very difficult, especially in cold weather.
because of #2 I would remove them for the winter months where you may have to put air in more often or deal with snow. When I have the tires replaced I will harp on them to be mindful of the proper orientation of them on the wheels prior to wheel cover installation
