2025.2.8 upgrades/fixes: windshield fluid spray, rear cross traffic notification

Talk to GM EV owners. Apparently the Silverado folks can't even get 2025 Silverado software loaded onto their 2024 models. You have to buy the new model year to get less bugs.

And that includes people willing to take it into a dealership. What is taking them so friggin long to get true OTA software updates (let alone dealership applied software patches)?

Tesla owners don't know how good they have it, unless they came from a GM EV (or one of the other legacy companies who can't get their EV shit together).

Weird. Saw an ‘update is available’ message for 2025.2.8 earlier today. Before I had a chance to connect to WiFi, it’s gone. Now that I’m on WiFi, still nothing. CT is still on 2024.45.32.15.

I got this update notification (2025.2.8). Clicked to download, started to count down to download and then disappeared.
Now truck shows up to date on 2024.45.32.20

So true. It rains a lot here in Western Washington, and every time it's raining, and I get in a normal car now (including an F-150), I get a chuckle about how dainty and toylike the two little dinky wipers are. It's actually comical. Those of you in Southern California probably don't get to use your wipers enough for this mini-comedy to play out with the same effect.

Tesla won't stop the roll-out for a minor bug, the acid test is which software version is better. A serious enough bug will stop the rollout. In that case the new version will usually follow very closely (after they fix the bug). The exception is if the new version has a dangerous FSD build. That's not a bug, just a realization that the new version is more dangerous. In this case it could be a couple of weeks or longer before they have a better version.

Exactly how I feel whenever I get in my wife’s Model 3. I tell her her wipers are so small and dainty lol

lol You took the words out of my mouth . I have 2 other cars and am always laughing when I see the 2 mini wipers clean the window . The windows themselves are so small as well . Gets me every time .

Ask for Revision “D” for the wiper blade and see if that fixes it. I saw another post here about “E” which is assumably the next revision, but all I can speak for is “D”

Also try those steps mentioned above about flushing it and see if that helps. It won’t take long to do and will give you faster potential resolve than waiting for NHTSA to do anything. That could take months and likely never happen. The “flush” is about a 30 minute job and is worth a shot. Let us know how it goes and if that resolves it. I would do it but Revision “D” along with the new wiper motor resolved my fluid issues fortunately.


1. Remove Wiper Blade & Detach Line – Take off the wiper blade and disconnect the washer fluid line to prevent debris from being pushed into the blade.


2. Flush the Wiper Blade Separately – Clean out the blade before reattaching it to ensure no blockages remain.


3. Check for Restrictions – Inspect hoses for any blockages, collapses, or restrictions that may be affecting pressure.


4. Flush with Warm Water & Vinegar – Run a mixture of warm water and vinegar through the system to help dissolve any buildup.


5. Use Compressed Air – Blow compressed air through the lines to remove any remaining debris or clogs.


6. Use a Proper Washer Solution – Refill with a non-hydrophobic washer fluid (avoid products like Rain-X).


7. Check for Leaks – Inspect the front camera washer line on the bumper for leaks or kinks that could be causing pressure loss.


8. Test & Observe – After completing the flush, test the system and monitor performance, then report findings.

I think I have spent maybe 30 minutes on wiper maintenance in my entire life. This is pretty sad that anyone would have to do this to a new or close to it anything.

If so, this must be a issue specifically with the Cybertruck, because I have a ‘20 MY that is downloading it as we speak and that makes the most recent car in my fleet to get it. The first was the day this build was released and now my CB is the only car in my fleet that doesn’t have this.

Probably is only impacting the CT. Both my 3s are on 2025.2.8.

Yep, I can confirm my Model X and S plaid both have it and have for a while. that means all S3XY cars (at least in our small sample) have it.
