Hey all, I am in the process of looking at CT. Due to the “bonuses”, i am considering Cyberbeast Foundation series. I do like road trips…so the free supercharging is kinda nice. Free premium connectivity, while small cost, is icing on cake. I am new to this forum. With the questions below, i don’t mind you guys pointing me in the right direction via link or give a quick explanation will be much appreciated. My brothers have several Teslas…so i am familiar in general with them. My dad just took delivery of 2025 Model Y LE. This will be my FIRST Tesla ever. I currently have a Ford F150 Powerboost with 7.2 kW generator.

1. PowerShare. I see this on Foundation as included option while other CT has it as an option. From my understanding, PowerShare involves the outlets in the bed (240V and 110s). Is this like a software upgrade that allows you to use the bed outlets to power house or charge other EVs? I see this outlet in every CT, right?

(I already have a Generac sub panel to power some part of my house via truck or independent gas generator…so, this PowerShare is of great interest to me.)

2. Premium connectivity. I understand that it is $10/mo right now. Is there rumor that Tesla will increase this rate once they add more streaming stuff or other functionality?

3. The new 2025 Model Y that my father just got has the lower bumper camera. The CT has this too, right? Is there a functionality to this? Better pothole management?

4. Audio system. Do all CT have the same stereo system? Any specs on it? How many speakers, amps power? Does it support Dolby Atmos?? Any speaker in the ceiling?

5. Is the front windshield of CT pretty strong against rock chips, etc? I have heard that in other Teslas, the windshield gets chipped easily. My current Ford truck has super strong windshield! My Toyota…not so much!

6. Does the side window of CT vibrates and makes noise on cross winds? My Ford truck does this. Such as going down highway and there are strong cross winds, does the side glass vibrate/rattles?

7. The rear bed…sorry if this sounds stupid, but is there an accessory to get into the bed easily…such as a kickstand that pops out from below for you to step on?

8. Is the air suspension on CT reliable? Is it heavier duty than others?

9. I will probably wrap my CT matte black. How much are the wraps (materials and labor) in general? Ball park figure…i have never wrapped my vehicles before.

10. Lastly…are there VIN numbers that i need to steer away from? Are Foundation series better put together than others since they were made first and for enthusiasts? Or are they more trouble prone being so early in assembly line?

Once again, thank you so much for answering my questions.

Oh forgot one more…does CT still need module in front bumper to do house garage door? I understand that MyQ has an app? (My house has MyQ already.)

Does Tesla offer extended warranty?

This is power share…uses a gateway and wall charger provided by Tesla (these are part of the FS Beast package). . During a power shortage the CTs batteries provide auxiliary power to your house thru this system. Some of us received 4k credit towards installation. Note: the CT power outlets are not used for this purpose.

1. Don't believe the Foundation Series being sold now include the Powershare hardware. Hardware is $2,500 (install extra), basically the transfer switch and bi-directional wall connector. You can get similar functionality (although entirely manual) using the 14-50 outlet in the bed (9.6kW vs. 11.5kW w/ Powershare).

2. $10/month is really cheap for what you get w/ premium connectivity in the Tesla, so I wouldn't rule out an increase in the future.

3. CT has a bumper camera, but I don't believe it is integrated into FSD. It makes parking easier though.

7. No bed step, but the truck can lower itself when you park for easier access.

10. Build quality is always luck of the draw, later VINs may have build changes w/ potential improvements, but newer isn't always better. Foundations are all going to be earlier VINs, but any of the recall issues would be taken care of before you picked up anyway. Mine's in the 26xxx range and I have no complaints.

11. MyQ is the only option right now. No add-on homelink module has been announced or released. I hope they add one, I don't find MyQ reliable.

Thanks!! Yeah, i am ok using the “manual” route to power my house. I am doing that now with my truck and Generac sub panel. 7.2 kW is all i need…having 9.6 is just icing on cake! :D

Here's a check list for when you pick up your new vehicle! And my best answers to your questions.

2. You never know...

3. In the rear, no. The camera is not in the bumper in the back. It is in the front though. Hard to back up when you have your tailgate down...

4. No speakers in the ceiling. Great audio sound though. I think 8 - 12 speakers? Don't quote me

5. I'd say I'm afraid of just how big that damn wind shield is..

6. Not on mine.

7. Not OEM. Possibly after market. However, the rear bumper has good access points for you to step on.

8. The air suspension is incredible.. It feels like riding on a cloud and I'd say very reliable.

9. You'll probably pay at least $2k USD for a good wrap. I didn't wrap mine and do not plan on doing so

10. Like many have said, later VINs will incorporate customer feedback / manufacturing changes. However, nothing substantial has come up that is not already displayed. (rear motors / inverters / etc..)

2) Comes with free for one year.

11)If. you have a wifi opener. You can buy at HD a $30 box to install (very easy no tools) that will allow the CT to open and close leaving and arrival. It's $45 a year for the MYQ. The Homelink was $350 to purchase. FWIW mine has worked fine. I think depends on your wifi at home strength. (may be wrong)

The LOW suspension height for entry makes the bed so much easier to get in and out of compared to any other standard pickup I've had.

It is the most insane audio system I've ever had. Full stop.

BUT, the Steer-by-Wire and Four-wheel-steering are the most standout features......by far.

I have a 2023 Model Y and recently got my CT. I did road trips with both of them. For new Tesla owner, I would say the charging is going to take some extra time comparing to a gas car. I used to do IL to UT in two days on my Jeep, but decided not doing it with my Tesla in the winter. If your road trip is planned to have multiple stops anyway, this might be less of a problem. FSD is huge plus in road trip, much relaxed and safer. I recently did a road trip to upper MI with my CT, it is a bit harder than Model Y because the battery capacity is larger than my Model Y (with similar range). So almost every charging stop is longer, plus some of the Supercharger in upper MI is on 150kW, so it was even slower than the faster 250kW+ chargers.

1. You might want to check with a powershare installer to see how the powershare would work with you existing generator and other system. There could be unforeseen limitations that would get addressed via future software updates.

2. I have not heard any rumor about price increase. You can think it is essentially a mobile data plan for the SIM card in your Tesla.

3. I assume you mean the front bumper camera. CT has that too. It is useful when parking if you need the every inch. The camera has very wide field of view, so it is probably helping the FSD in certain scenarios. For example, merging into the main road, or parking. It also has a washer with it, so it can be easily cleaned.

4. It has 15 speakers which are the same for Cyberbeast and All-Wheel-Drive version. Speaker locations: . It does have ceiling (overhead) speakers. Not sure about Dolby Atmos support, I don't think that speaker setup in the car works that way. But theoretically, Tesla maybe able to add something like that via software updates.

5. Don't know. Not sure if I want to find out ;)

6. No noise or vibration for me. They are pretty tight.

7. I step on the corner of the rear bumper to get on to the bed. The car itself does not have a ladder-like accessory. Tesla does sale a tailgate ramp https://shop.tesla.com/product/cybertruck-tailgate-ramp. Looking for third-party accessories.

8-10. Don't know.
