No, the manual for CT says it. It's not because the stainless can't handle the cloth brushes. It's because every car manufacturer puts that in their manual as a cover their asses clause just in case a brush that's in disrepair catches the corner of a plastic trim piece or something and yanks it off.
To be fair, ever have a stainless sink or outdoor stainless counter? Thise scratch like crazy and why we replaced with the "granite" style. Now maybe CT is completely different but I bet it scratches as we have seen some at delivery.

We've had our Cybertruck for over a year and we see no such scratches.

I took mine through three car washes. The charge port door loosened up and now opens up with a stiff breeze. Asked to have it repaired at SC but it was within spec so they left it. The charger door opens up during car washes so I stopped taking mine to them.

I also tore up the car wash brushes and found them hooked to various parts of the truck.

ah bummer, I’ve taken our Cybertruck to a hand car wash with no brushes, for over a year pretty much every week, and we’ve had no issues.

I been doing auto car wash for a year. No complaints. I don’t think a coating is necessary. Mine look shiny and even. I used barmaid a year ago and washed often (2-4 times a month) It looks better than a year ago. The finger prints are not a problem. I think the wax:ceramic in the auto wash makes the finger prints less visible.
