Yes, material costs would be significantly lower, probably at least 25-35% cheaper per yard. The pleather Tesla uses is a fairly premium product, not as expensive as a premium leather but more durable and easier to maintain.

Plus, some people prefer cloth seats. I'll take the vented pleather myself.

If you don’t like the look, there are plenty of fairly inexpensive seat cover options out there for the CT (assuming the same dimensions as the leather seats)

Good point although leather covers without cooled seats sounds terrible in hot weather

I would put seat covers over them and be done with It. I have had cars with cloth material and keeping them clean is a pain.

FYI, I grew up with four channels on a black and white TV with no remote, no landline telephone, no garage door opener (hint NO garage either), no cruise control in the car I shared, and I had to dim my own headlights. Yeah, all that sucked and I don't want to go backwards, EVER. Just give me them ventilated and heated seats. Go Boomers!!

Damn right. My dad wouldn’t even stop for fast food on road trips growing up. Never went on any exotic vacations. Lived in a modest lower middle income home. I then studied my ass off and went to school for 20 years to get in to a profession where my first real job was at the age of 40 and couldn’t afford to buy first home until I was 50. So I agree with you. Give me my damn ventilated seats.
