If you wanted to run a cable into (or out of) the vault connecting to the cabin or frunk and avoiding the tonneau cover including its mechanism (irrelevant for the rwd I guess), what would be the best/easiest path?

I know how to get to the front of the vault/sail appliqué area and I know how to get to the rear bumper area/license plate. Just unclear on how people get in and out of the vault without affecting tailgate or tonneau functionality.

In the bed there is an upper triangle that is relatively easy to remove than will give you access to the underside of the tonneau track. Behind is the buttress and lots of voids to run stuff through. See the service manual.

If you go topside you could run the wire under the plastic trim then drop down into the B-Pillar then into the cabin. The B-Pillar is hollow so plenty of room.

To get into the vault from the sail area, I did drill holes in the sidewall (mounting switches/etc.). If you’re trying to avoid that, the gap around the main bed floor might work for medium gauge wires. Just feed down from the sail area, behind the side wall, and up through the gap.

Got it so the wire goes down behind the l-track and then what is the path into the actual vault?is there a hole somewhere or do you need go around where the tailgate closes?

Yes there’s lots of room in the wall space and under the bed to route wires. The gap you’d come back up through would be around the edge of the main floor panel (with the 10 or so bolts). If I remember right, there is a pretty good sized gap along the edge (6000 series vin) that allows water draining. I can take a picture tonight.
