What? No Crab Walk? SMH

Not sure why I got it-I’m usually AFTER a lot of people, I feel.Anyone else get this yet?
It’s unlikely they would downgrade the camera in the lower end cybertruck. The resolution of the camera needs to be the same for every model that is going to use FSD. The older hardware 3 has to be converted if they use it in FSD training. I have some expertise in programming deep neural networks, and getting the resolutions to match is you have different resolutions is a huge pain in the ass. It was a major decision to upgrade the cameras when they went to hardware 4, i suspect they won’t mess with the camera portion of the FSD system. It could mean the RWD has a lower quality rear camera.
Yeah, until “they” realized the CT headlights were just too small to add that functionality….or something similar to that.Wasn't this update meant to include adaptive headlights for CT?
Disappointingly, still no Auto steering/lane keeping and no ASS etc… my non-FS CT doesn’t have FSD and I won’t bother subscribing until I actually have the features that make it worthwhile. ?You are right, I missed Lar's follow up on X:
Perhaps the issue encountered is that the user has the rear camera zoomed all the way in (digital zoom, not optical zoom). I can confirm that this does degrade the image quality substantially however I opt to use it fully zoomed so I my brain can grasp better how close the rear image is in reality to my vehicle. I will say, the zoomed image is rather poor unfortunately but that would be expected on a wide angle lens such as used for the rear camera.interesting, my rear view cam is as clear as the front. Maybe yours is dusty and needs a wipe down? CB 29k vin
FSD is worth while right now. Probably a good move for you to wait because once you get used to FSD on a Cybertruck, you don’t want to be without.Disappointingly, still no Auto steering/lane keeping and no ASS etc… my non-FS CT doesn’t have FSD and I won’t bother subscribing until I actually have the features that make it worthwhile. ?
Yeah this is the Spring Update, not the FSD Update we’ve been waiting for to bring parity with other Tesla vehicles.Disappointingly, still no Auto steering/lane keeping and no ASS etc… my non-FS CT doesn’t have FSD and I won’t bother subscribing until I actually have the features that make it worthwhile. ?
I had FSD for 2 months after I bought it and it wasn’t as good as my Model X had. That being said, it’s not worth it with the features it has now on the CT.FSD is worth while right now. Probably a good move for you to wait because once you get used to FSD on a Cybertruck, you don’t want to be without.
Yeah for me it is way better than my HW3 Model S. I use FSD every drive now. I can’t see myself not using FSD anymore. Everybody is different, just my perspective.I had FSD for 2 months after I bought it and it wasn’t as good as my Model X had. That being said, it’s not worth it with the features it has now on the CT.
not exactly. So the update was never going to apply to the cyber truck because the Cybertruck never had the hardware for it. A Tesla has been putting the technology in cars since my 2021 M3P. So it’s very lame that the CT is not getting it.Yeah, until “they” realized the CT headlights were just too small to add that functionality….or something similar to that.
I assume the last items means if you have something like Starlink or your mobile phone providing a wireless hot spot that you don't have to tell it to reconnect although I could have sworn with my Hotspot from Starlink that if I told it to stay connected while driving that it would auto connect. So I'm not sure what is new here. Guess I will see when I get the update....
- Alternative Trip Plans: Multiple trip plans are available for selection to better suit travel needs, accessible through the navigation system.
- Avoid Highways: Navigation can now bypass major highways when possible, offering alternative routes. Enable this by going to Controls > Navigation > Avoid Highways.
- Dashcam Update and Side Camera Recording: The vehicle's side cameras (B-Pillar) now record to both Dashcam and Sentry Mode clips. The Dashcam Viewer app has been updated with a grid view for easier access and review of recordings.
- Save Trunk Height Based on Location: Customize and save the trunk's opening height as a default or for specific locations (e.g., your garage). Set the height by pausing the trunk while it’s moving using the touchscreen.
- Keyboard Languages: Additional keyboard language support has been added for improved user interface interaction.
- Keep Accessory Power On: A new option allows 12V power sockets to remain active with an "Accessory Power" setting, re-enabling functionality that was previously disabled.
- Minor Updates and Security Fixes: Includes various minor improvements and important security enhancements for all models.
- Non-Tesla Charger Visibility: In Navigation settings, you can choose to show or hide chargers not owned or serviced by Tesla (applies to 2021+ Model S/X, all Model 3/Y).
- Improved Rear Camera View: The rear camera now shows a wider field of view, enhancing visibility for rear cross-traffic (specific to HW4 Model Ys, but may apply to Cybertruck depending on hardware).
- Automatic Hotspot Connection: If a hotspot is enabled, it automatically connects to the vehicle upon driving, eliminating the need to reconnect each time.
