Tesla light bar not really worth it 🤷🏼‍♂️

I noticed some wind noise coming from my aftermarket rooftop lightbar, especially at freeway speed above 65mph. Worst when there is a lot of gusty cross winds. Since my factory lightbar was just installed yesterday, my service manager advise me to stay off the freeway for a few days to allow the adhesive to properly cure, more so in colder climates. I'll do a Fast X tomorrow and will offer my wind noise impressions then.

I'm noticing small wind noise from right above the passener seat. I'm thinking it might be from the lighbar or the window seals.. They are going to replace the window seals on the passenger side and hope it fixes it. My wife's CB doesn't have this issue with her lightbar and wondering if anyone else notices some extra wind noise after install?

I’ve heard a wind whistle a few times but it wasn’t consistent. I think it was from a strong cross breeze while on the highway.

Finally, and I mean Finally got my email for Blitizen's light-bar, took delivery July 3, 2024...BUT, there is always a butt, we leave to go back to the North Pole for a month, next week, so the wait will continue. Gotta check on the elves...

Last year, in October, we had to take a quick out of the country trip and FSD landed on the eve of our departure...for one who tweaks time to deliver presents all in one night Santa seems to be a bit out of wack with Tesla time!!!!!!

I Was able to purchase a Tesla Lightbar from somebody on this forum. I have a non-beast Dual Motor FS. I'm not sure how I'm going to install it because the SS is 2 hours away and I don't know if they will install it on a non-beast. If I do the install one thing I am hesitant about is the permanent primer/adhesive. Once it's on there it is not coming off that windshield. I am tempted to used 3M VHB tape. Anyway, I will post some pics once I get around to it in the next week or 2.

With proper prep cleaning and depending on what the backside of the lightbar looks like I think I a massive strip of VHB tape would work great.

I’m in the group that thinks the lightbar bar won’t work on dual motors. Goodluck!

You will be the first one to verifiably be able to test whether what we’ve been told is true or not which is you’ve just bought something that should not work at all with your vehicle. These are supposed to be hard coded to only work with FSCB. So maybe you can just try to attach it electronically and see if your car will recognize it and you can settle a long-standing debate.

If your SC isn’t close you would be saving yourself some time that could be wasted if representations made here are true.

Just got my email for install but from my last conversation with a tesla service rep they told me there is a V2 that will be produced eventually. I asked my SC and they said im able to wait for V2 or get the current one.

Get somebody to put IN WRITING that V2 is coming.

I would just set the lightbar on top of the truck temporarily and wire it up to see if it is software blocked based on non FS CB.

This is precisely what I suggested above. Any other course (to my way of thinking) would be foolish, given information available.

They sold so little of these FS beast, I doubt they’ll redesign the light bar. I just got the email for mine today as well and I’m doing it, will be on in a few weeks.

if there’s some issue or recall, just complain to get it replaced under warranty.

Yeah, I'll test it out in the next couple days and report back....

Just tested it and can confirm lightbar software is automatically 'activated' and light and software are working on a non-beast foundation. As soon as I connected and turned on the feed a popup box arrived saying lightbar was installed. I'll look at mounting it sometime in the near future, but for now works perfectly.
