To the point, what tips can you providing to convincing the wife to approve a couple's acquisition of a Cybertruck?
She's been in one, but not driven yet, says "its ok"
Help is appreciated
If you can get Lifetime Super Charging you could save thousands/ year in fuel. On my wife’s Model X we save $4500-$6000 / year.
Our savings is actually higher because her previous vehicle was a 3/4 ton Suburban and the app only uses the gas mileage Midsize SUV to calculate gas savings. I’ll also second the back up power feature. We used it as backup power for nearly two weeks straight in Malibu when they cut off power for the Palisades Fire. Combine a CyberTruck and a Starlink Mini you will also have comms because all the local cell towers lose power as well.

The blatant misogynism and manipulation on the thread is astounding. How about teamwork?

My real answer was to purchase a ‘26MY Launch edition for her on the same day “we” put in the ‘25 CT order, with both of our names on both orders/titles.

She was already sold on Tesla because we have had at least one at all times since 2012, but she hated the look of the CT, yet understood the need for heavy towing , was willing to let me do my thing - no quid-pro-quo or manipulation, just a respectful conversation about what each of us wanted or needed. Done deal, everybody wins. She’s warmed up now to the CT, softened by the “pretty” wrap.

j/p ?

Yea, I tricked my wife into driving to the delivery event without her knowing I bought the truck, but she was aware I put in a reservation ~4 years prior. So it wasn't a complete surprise. Should have recorded her reaction though; it was priceless! Any lasting marriage has communication and respect as a foundation. But where is the juicy drama in that?? ?

“The wife” is a telling term. All kinds of messages in that, intended or subliminal. I’m no feminist, but we don’t need to feed the image of CT drivers as Neanderthal guys who carry clubs and drag our women around by their hair. Oh wait, isn’t a club suggested above?

We were replacing an '86 F250 diesel. One launch and she was sold, no more pulling the trailer up hills at 35 MPH.

You just gotta get pumped on it and talk about it everyday, she'll want you to get your dreams.
- rear doors open 90 degrees- great for loading carseats/hauling stuff
- easy to transport bikes/potting soil/[insert her hobby here]
- electric, always full of charge
- drives itself! you can be the driver on all the roadtrips
- easy to clean and maintain
- low center of gravity means very hard to flip
- super safe
- customizable via wraps if she doesn't like the color
- hands down best tesla
- steer by wire/48v/4 wheel steering- aka nerdiest car ever!
- honestly it's a lot cheaper than other off-roading cars in the same league. the amount of mods people do to jeeps and 4runners to get close to the CT is $$$$
- heated and cooled seats
- heated steering wheel
- cup holders AND big bottle holders
- lots of storage in cabin
- auto set profiles if she wants to drive

Depends on your wife and situation though.
Women respect a man with passion. For work. For their interests. For their family. My wife knows how much I love the Cybertruck and would never want to stand in the way of it. Of course, she loves it too...

I agree. Gain that respect. As long as you are not taking money off the dinner table, why not?

My husband was against my purchase. Once I could get the non foundation cost I made it clear how much I wanted it to replace my Model 3 and 2000 Chevy 2500. His decision was partly based on saying it was my Christmas present because he knew it was something I wanted and anything else he got me couldn't compare. That said, it makes him happy that I’m so happy to have it.
