My husband was against my purchase. Once I could get the non foundation cost I made it clear how much I wanted it to replace my Model 3 and 2000 Chevy 2500. His decision was partly based on saying it was my Christmas present because he knew it was something I wanted and anything else he got me couldn't compare. That said, it makes him happy that I’m so happy to have it.
And that’s exactly how constructive relationships work. Thank you for chiming in. The sausage fest on here was making this thread sound very gender specific but it isn’t and shouldn’t be.

My actual advice on this topic?

Maintain your status and duty as head of the household, gather her informed opinion, then make the decision for your family if you deem it appropriate to have one.

Unless she works full time and you guys have a weird "dual" head-of-household thing going on. And if that's the case, you probably don't want my other opinions lol
That’s the route I went. Asked her to trust me. We got flipped off 3 times while test driving and she wanted no part in it. I told her I don’t let those people make any other decisions for me and this is no different. We are just over a month in and now she drives it every chance she gets. She loves showing it to people who get excited and it has been nothing but positive since owning it. She is now a super fan and defends it to everyone. For her it was the FSD. She hates to drive. That coupled with the safety rating and she feels like she is in a tank. She calls it her Beastie Bestie. Take the leap and ask for her to trust you. She will come around and realize it was the right decision.

My wife wasn't a fan of how it looked, but she knew how badly I'd wanted it since day 1, so she knew the truck would be coming home. But with her butt in the seat and finding out that the truck parks itself and FSD is probabbly a better driver than she is, she was sold.

Now, she is driving the truck every chance she gets. She loves showing off the self-parking to her co-workers and friends.

Butts in seats....

about to move her to a new MY, she will be good there
the CT would me mine and her joint toy, we've been with our Tesla Owners Club at an event and camped in the MY, not too bad
with an opening rear window on the Cybertruck and ability to climate an on vehicle tent will be amazing

still looking for specific keys that won the wife over
Sounds like community is important to her, sell her on the exclusive CyberTruck community, an exclusive club, with very few members compared to almost any other car club in the world.

And look how incredibly unhappy women have been in the corporate workplace for decades running ?ā€ā™‚
That is ridiculous!! My wife is very happy in her CEO position. She would be miserable as a stay at home Mom/Wife as you are suggesting. Look how unhappy men are in the corporate work place, and for that matter, my wife runs circles around the men she has worked with and is why she is in her position. She is a mentor for other people in her position, ie ā€œmenā€, I could not be more proud of my wife and support her 100%! It’s not 1960.

Did she climb the corporate ladder after the kids were married off?

Also look at the reason men hate corporate life. It's either women making workplaces weird/awkward or they would rather be outside doing blue collar stuff lol.

Try…

ā€œI make the money, so I get what I want. Do you have a problem with that?ā€

j/k :D
I said something like that to my wife when we were in our early 20s. 48 years later I am still paying for it.

To the point, what tips can you providing to convincing the wife to approve a couple's acquisition of a Cybertruck?
She's been in one, but not driven yet, says "its ok"
Help is appreciated
I would let her drive it as long as possible. Rent one for a weekend and have her drive it as much as possible. After driving this for
More than a couple
Hours nothing else really compares.

My wife says her '26 MY is far superior to the CT we purchased the same month (March). She avoids driving the CT and I must admit that FSD on the MY is in a whole other class compared to the CT. The MY is also way easier to drive and park due to size, yet has a remarkable towing capacity. I prefer the CT but not if heading into town.

In many ways our model x is superior too. It’s a way better people mover whereas the CT is a way better stuff mover and adventure vehicle.
The model x is really nice for pickups and drop offs because of the powered ā€œeverythingā€ and falconwing door advantages. Ours has free SC also which is pretty cool on road trips. Missed that on our FS by about 3 months. Grumble grumble.
I concur that the FSD is vastly superior to the truck.

Cybertruck= ?,⚔?, ??☣,??
NO Cybertruck = ☹, ā„ā›ø, ?

1. Backup Home Power (power share equal to 8 plus Tesla power walls of batteries).

2. Higher Security (both personal protection and in an accident). Also bio weapon defense mode.

3. The ability for the driver themselves to put two large pizzas on the dashboard, one on the floor in front of the passenger seat, and three more on the four by the back seat. Pizza for everybody! ??????

4. Remote Access to vehicle (someone mentioned that when their spouse's cell phone was dead they opened it remotely). Throw in along with this one being able to turn on your Air Conditioning and Heat remotely before you get to the vehicle.

5. 20% cost versus ice when charging at home. 50% cost versus Ice when charging at a DC fast charger.

6. A vehicle either so beautiful and or so ugly that you will never have a hard time finding it in a crowded parking lot! ?

7. Literally laughing out loud when someone opens up their car door and high winds catch it and slam it in the side of your vehicle. You look at your door and it doesn't even have a scratch. Meanwhile the other person's door edge is bent in an inch and they can't even cause the door because it's been bent so badly!

This actually happened to me at a grocery store parking lot with 45 mph winds. A car pulled in next to me and a little kid opened the door in the wind caught the door and slammed it into my cyber truck door.

There wasn't a single mark on my door but her brand new Toyota Camry with a temporary tag on it still had its door edge curved inward and entire inch. It was bent so badly it wouldn't close!

I'm sure there are a bunch of other things I'm not thinking of off the top of my head. But remember... Plenty of places for boxes of pizza! ?

I think some women will be intimidated just by the sheer size of the truck, but actually driving it is super easy and comfy! Steer by wire and 4WS are my 2 favorite features. My wife loves driving our truck!

Don’t forget how many pizzas you can put in the bed thanks to the vault. :)
