Went on a drive from Watsonville to Hollister calif. With FSD. The outbound route planned was terrible. It took me towards LA on highway one south for 5 miles before it corrected and looped back. This added 15-20 miles that should not have been an option. Then the return trip corrected the route but on two left turns turned into the on coming lanes. The second incident scared me enough to take over driving completely. Dthe trck

While it's never happened to me, others have reported that FSD would sometimes turn into oncoming traffic. Since it's almost always at the same location, it is probably the result of bad map data. You should report it when you disengage.

Yes it happens to me as well. It still does and yes at the same location every time. I've been reporting it for over a year.

I experienced that issue just yesterday morning in Olympia, WA when turing left onto Lilly Road, a 2 lane with a left turn lane at that intersection. I was on my guard because of all the published CT left turn issues & when the truck proceeded to turn left into that lane & is heavily used I might add. Fortunately no one was in the lane as I quickly intervened & then I reported it immediately. It was very cloudy and so no sun to temporarily blind the camera too.

I had the same issue several times while engaging FSD. I am now unwillingly to use FSD for risk avoidance.

Occurs to me only when no other traffic/ cars heading in same direction as me. Usually it’s when there is a two lane left turn and it has restarted the shimmy before it does the turn into wrong direction. It does also occur with a single left turn lane- but only left turns. Occurs almost daily at least once.

It’s worse since last FSD update. I use FSD 98%. There are some subtle safety issues now. Rare real safety interventions but they do occur at least weekly now.

Also new is missing highway exits that are near my house and never missed on previous versions. What’s worse is it knows it has to turn (it starts to turn but too slow and no blinker- crossing lanes) and a shimmy to go towards the exit but it’s scared to commit. These are dangerous but it is supervised.

Here is a new example of the left turn- lane switch- this time with cars to follow- and it really just jumps the lane.

I've had two left turns into the incoming lane (luckily empty) in the recent weeks. Well marked, day light, no camera obstruction. Then I had at least 3 occurrences of FSD pretending to pass through the incoming lane and... keeping on driving there. Basically blinker comes up, it moves over to the other lane, and stays there. Two of those happened in the same spot at night, and another happened just last night in another area. Perhaps it's not passing, but rather started thinking it's a one-way ? Who knows... good thing it's a free trial, or I'd be disappointed about the money spent :D

You can even see the moment where it thinks to itself "oops!" ?

I haven't had the turning into the oncoming lane but I have had some bad drives the last couple days.

The truck twice drove past its destination and instead of turning into the parking lot it kept going. Never happened before at that location.

Today it also put the blinker on to make a left turn but never got into the turn lane. I let it play out until it got behind a car going straight and I took control and moved it into the lane. Also never had an issue at that location.

Happened to me for the first time ever. Left hand arrow, no cars in the oncoming traffic lane, the CT just pulled into the wrong lane. I took over, left Tesla a voice memo , reactivated FSD and made it home. I felt I was “warned” in earlier posts, so I was “supervising” attentively.

Once tonight making a left turn it turned into the oncoming traffic lane (no cars). I had to steer it over. 10 minutes later on our curvy road it took a hard left curve but veered into the left lane (no oncoming traffic) I had to correct it. I am going to post it and see what gives.

Mine is crossing more and more into the opposite lane during left hand turns at intersections, and even on winding roads with sharp left curves

In cases where FSD is misbehaving, has anyone (more likely their passenger(s)) paid attention to the FSD visualization? Is it seeing the world properly and making bad decisions? Or is it misinterpreting the world and acting [correctly] on its own bad interpretation?
