Anyone have any idea the best way to remove this without having to either refinish the whole panel or mess with the finish too badly?
Ive cleaned it with water, isopropyl, and sprayway but it persists. Pretty sure the metal is etched. Whats wild is that it was only there for a day or so.

Awhile back I purchased a bag of citric acid from amazon and combined it with water to create a fairly strong mixture. I’ve experimented with spraying and leaving it on for 5, 30, and 2hrs+ before wiping off.

5 & 30 mins most small imperfections come out, bit of elbow grease required when scrubbing out.

2hrs+ it looks like shit when it dries and gets sticky to touch however has removed all inconsistencies. I can almost just rinse it off and the panel is left sparking (wiping down after and using the glass cleaner polish is required for a detailed level finish)

Up here in the North the road salt and sand cause havoc on the SS, citric acid took care of that, along with bug splatters, and other inconsistencies with ease.

I believe the manual recommends citri surf 77, not sure on the concentration however it’s ready to use out of the bottle and avail on amazon.

several products, Purple power cleaner, bartenders keeper, then windex to remover the chalky residue, you might have to do the entire rear quarter

That stain will not persist after using bar keeper's friend followed by Sprayeay to remove BFK residue.

This will make the cyberstuck page. Apocalypse proof truck defeated by bird poop.
who cares? the truck could be equipped with rockets and land on the moon and people would still scoff at it.

Im just concerned BKF will mess with the overall finish. I tried gently rubbing it with a blue scotchbrite but no luck. Id really like to avoid having to buy a random orbital sander and redo the whole panel but if thats what i gotta do i guess i will… what do you think are the chances tesla will cover it under warranty?

Also- if i do need to sand it, do i also need to passivate it after?

I have citri surf 77. Ill check the manual but i thought this was just for passivation?

i suppose this + a blue scotchbrite pad would be the next step before refinishing the panel.

Only answer is to have birds poop on the rest of the truck.
You know, i was thinking that if bird poop did this, i wonder if i put down a stencil and a target. Easy etch a sketch lol

Tried a number of products, including detail spray, on a stain and Meguiars Fine Cut cleaner took it right off. It did take off the passivation layer, so I’d only recommend using it when doing the whole panel.

I have tried following the manual which says leave it on for a couple minutes and use the blue scotch pad…. did not fully remove spots and the blue scotch pad STILL LEAVES TINY SWIRLS!

When I experimented with leaving my citric acid solution on longer I just used a soft automotive sponge and water… the panel was spotless. No muscle or scrubbing required. Then I used glass cleaner and a microfiber to polish dry things up…. masterpiece.
