In order to look at your photo I have to give Google full access to my photos and that’s just not going to happen.

This is good news for a lot of people.

*** Wait, possibly stupid question but you did confirm that it actually powered on and showed up in the interface? I just remembered somebody saying that it wouldn’t turn on.

Yeah, it powered on... It's all there. I'll try and upload photos, but I it seems to get stuck. Anyway, everything is working.

Thank you! That’s the end of that falsehood! No reason to suspect that it won’t work on any cybertruck, foundation or not at this point.

This has been a very long-standing misrepresentation.

I disconnected the lightbar and wrapped the wiring back up. The software is still there, and looks that it will not go away. Even my CT avatar on the main screen has a little lightbar added. My question now is if I add a 3rd party lightbar would the software still remain? I wonder if these companies have tested it out.

Good question. Looks like you’re gonna be pioneering a lot of ground.

Has anyone determined how the tesla software even controls the OEM lightbar? I mean 3 wires, it's either some kind of PLC or bluetooth I imagine...

The light bar is illegal on public roads in NY, even when off, if not covered.

You either need to risk getting a ticket every time you drive, or it needs to be covered in some way. The way I will cover it is with blackout tape, since I don't belive there is a better solution yet (i.e. - plastic cover).

It's no different than tint tickets. In my area if your window has basically any tint at all, you'll get pulled over.
Wow, I wasn’t aware the light bar had to be covered in NY when driving on public roads… I’m looking forward to having the light bar available in case of a bad snowstorm. When the snow is wet enough to cake up on the headlights, I’m planning using the light bar to see my way home. I’ll guess I’ll have to uncover it, use it, and then put the cover back on once home.

Guess I’ll have to look for an aftermarket light bar cover.

Today I’m picking up my beast with newly installed lightbar. I postponed it until they could combine the can’t rail recall work which they did.

I had hesitations about installing the light bar, but figured it would complete the look. I learned many years ago never to take really expensive vehicles off road, especially at night. That’s what ATVs are for IMHO.

My biggest concern is loss of range at this point. Has anybody with the light bar been able to calculate what percentage the loss of range is?

You probably could only determine the range hit using very sophisticated testing rigs, so suffice to say you will never notice it. Completely negligible.

Wind noise would be a higher concern, and that too is probably very minimal.

I have the light bar. No range hit(that will be detectable). 1 psi tire pressure difference probably makes a bigger hit to range. Also I don’t notice any wind noise, and I typically drive 84 on the highway.

Like 4-5% at sustained interstate speed (75-85mph) for an extended period (like hours of driving at those speed, for me typically 8 -17hrs with stops for charging). Similar to removing your Cybertruck wheel covers.
It is actually better than most all aftermarket rooftop lightbars in terms of noise and drag. I have a FS Beast with the factory lightbar and a Beast with an aftermarket one, that's how I come to the conclusion.

Same here, no noticeable range hit and no wind noise.

I can agree no wind noise. I can't really say much about power hit as I'm terrible anyway.
