Good evening,

I've been going back and forth for almost a year with the purchase of the Cybertruck, as proven by my post history. I have test drove many other trucks and always come back to the cybertruck. My previous truck was a 2016 ram rebel and I loved that truck but do not like the new style and the high price of the new rams.

The cybertruck now checks all the boxes for features and is within budget with the latest incentives.

With a family, my biggest concern is negative attention/public harassment.. How has it been lately? I'll have 3 car seats in it and just want to avoid most of the crazies and enjoy the truck. The rear screen will be a big bonus for us as well.

Just curious if any members have any family experiences and/or tips with the cybertruck.

Thank you!

Im not going to lie and say ohhhh no it never happens... but in a year of ownership that I know of Ive seen the BIRD 3 times... Im in So cal so it might depend on where you live.. Now I did have my truck KEYED when I first got it and it was way before all the hate started. Century mode was on and it was the nail in the coffin! he was found and arrested and convicted! I really think it was a random act..
now that was said I get stopped or asked or ppl take selfies about every day ! the kids love it! if you don't want good attention don't get the truck! im so glad I got the truck and the good vibes out way the bad 100,000 to one ! its an amazing truck!!!!

I dont think you are in any more danger then any other vehicle these days...But, you are in more danger then 5-10 years ago, in any vehicle. People have become bold and lawless and do not fear laws or arrests.

The negative attention peaked a few months ago but has dropped off significantly. Even when at its peak, the negative comments and reactions were much less than the positive. If you spend a lot of time on Facebook and other social media you'll get a skewed view. I fell into that a while back and it started to get to me, then we went to a few public weekend events and took a long 3k mile roadtrip and were reminded that online is not representative of reality. I'm actually regularly surprised by the number of people who don't know what it is and/or don't really know about any controversy.

And all that applies to both sides of the spectrum.

I've had mine for almost 3 months now and have never gotten a finger or any outwardly negative response. Just before I got mine, I ran into a guy with 2 or 3 kids, and that was their main commuter. Kids, probably 5-7 years old playing video games in the back seat, and Mom and Dad up front. He loved his as well. Honestly, you'll be safer than most other cars...and you'll love it at the same time.

The flip side of anything negative is kids LOVE the Cybertruck. At the mall the other day and they were swarming the display model in the Tesla store and I heard 3 different kids ask their dad to see it as we walked around the mall.

So before long your kids will love it, and think the haters are lame Boomers.

The Cybertruck is an absolutely AWESOME family car. It has brought my family
much more joy than any kind of discomfort.

Also came from a ram. No kids but it has generally calmed down. Way less people flipping the bird or saying anything negative around me. Kids always go crazy for it and I always get sentry videos of people taking pics in front of it. Older people come up to me a lot curious. But yeah much less negativity since when I first got it. I'm in the Cleveland area. One thing I will say though is that it's an attention magnet. Everyone is constantly looking while I'm driving or parked somewhere.

That’s true. It’s anything but inconspicuous.
I concur with that though. The word swasticar and all the surrounding idiocy appears to have been a fleeting phenomenon in American history.

If you don't mind, which Frunk mat is that? Do you like it? I'm debating getting one. Seems I use the Frunk more for sitting than anything else.

It’s the best family car out there. I have twins. It’s incredible for so many reasons. However I can’t recommend it until the “heat” dies down. I still get the bird daily in NJ. And occasionally more aggressive behavior. It’s a 10/10 tho in terms of how great the truck is. I love Elon. I can’t wait for the attn to die down from the haters.

No mind at all @TyPope.
My frunk is multilayered. lol. iBear with me here. It’s mostly because I’ve bought various products over the course of my ownership and I’d rather keep them in there than store in the garage where they will invariably rot and become useless.
They also each add utility in their own way.
The first thing I bought was the Tesla net which added l-tracks. Highly recommend this no matter what you do with the frunk. There is now a cheaper knockoff than I had to pay I think. Then I bought a 3d max spider mat to keep it clean. Then the pillow which I think is what’s pictured in the shot you’re asking about. It’s this:

Frequently on sale for quite a bit cheaper than $40. Worth it even at that price but can be had cheaper.
My latest addition is some leftover pieces of my t-mat which fit nice and snuggly and are AWESOME because you can use any of the t-mat securement hardware in there.
So, my club sandwich is t-mat, net , max spider mat and then pillow.
I know it sounds crazy but each adds its own utility and I put stuff away in the vault as I need to. The tmat and net are useful when I’m actually transporting stuff I need to secure like power stations or boxes, the max spider is useful when I cook breakfast on my blackstone e-griddle in there so I don’t get oil and stuff everywhere. Also useful for catching beach sand and such under the pillow.
The net is handy for shopping bags and that sort of thing.
To add to the complete layer cake insanity I have a piece of xpel armor from abstract ocean on the front lip and am about to add one of those Cybertruck logo frunk lights.
It’s sitting in my garage it’s just been too hot in Phoenix to want to do well….anything.

It’s a brave person putting three car seats in the backseat. I could not do it. I raised four kids and had to have a three row vehicle because the third car seat is just too much to deal with. my daughter has a cyber truck and a Cadillac Escalade sport and for car seats, the Escalade EV beats the cyber truck and has an electric range posted at 500 miles, but I would think you would feel safer in the cyber truck because the quality of the construction I don’t know if I was in a town with aggressive wackos I might think differently about the truck. There’s just no negativity in South Florida about the truck anymore. I think you’ve already figured it out looking at the photos and it’s the right vehicle for you. Congratulations. My back would kill me with three car seats in one row!
Yesterday on the road to Miami Beach I encountered at least 20 other cyber trucks And one also had the LED devil eyes! Hopefully a negativity will be transferred to something else soon in the nation.

Tesla should use that photo of child in frunk for advertisement, it captures the true feeling of ownership!
