Hope everyone is having a great evening. First post here.

I’ve owned my CT for about a month now and I’m not in love with the subs. They leave so much to be desired. My MY Juniper sounds so much better (deeper/harder hitting and just overall cleaner sounding). I feel like the factory subs are muddy and weak.

All that being said, what do y'all think about swapping the factory woofers with the Audiofrog GS8ND2? Seems like they would work with some 3D printed spacers (to narrow the screw pattern and offset the woofer to allow more space for the magnet).

I wonder if it would improve the bass response and the ability to hit lower frequencies with running the factory amp wattage (I think around 80 watts) to them.

Any 3d printer gurus out there?

Right?! I agree with you! And I don’t really like the Light Harmonic solution. I did a full speaker replacement on my 2021 MY. It did improve the SQ but only by a fraction.

I just came across a 48v amp that just may work with the CT. The SoundExtreme EV30011. It’s 300 watts at 2 ohms. May not be the highest quality amp but it’s gotta be an improvement. I could run 2 of these off a 4 gauge power wire with 2 8 gauge off a distribution block. And get the high level input adapters from the amped garage. Would be a perfect/easy setup.

just need someone to develop a 3d scan so we can get a file to 3d print! Lol

Man I wish the truck took off a lot more so we could have some full kits out by now. If ya end up doing it let us know!

there may be some brackets already. Check this video out. He swaps the subs out and the subs he is using are the Alpine ones with brackets. The brackets can be bought separately

I have seen this video. He only replaced the front door woofers and not the ones under the rear seats. The fronts are a mid bass speaker.

Ahh could have sworn he did the under seat ones. Yeah I’ve put light harmonics on my last 3 teslas. Only ones I notice a difference with are the front door ones.

Same observation here too. I just emailed amped garage asking them if they can make some for me. I’ll update if I get a response!

I’m actually liking the sound system in my new CT. I’ve never splurged on the sound system upgrades in my cars and there is always something left to be desired. Should have gotten the Burmester in my Porsche and the Mark Levinson in my Lexus. The CT sounds great compared to the Bose in my Porsche. It also could be the music I listen to. Which is not bass heavy.

Music genre is key here. Rock and pop sound great in the CT. Hip hop and rap doesn’t sound good at all due to the lower bass notes not being hit. The sub in my MY hits them much better but obviously not great either. I enjoy driving and listening to music in my MY much more than the CT. It’s just kind of a bummer because ppl praised the CT sound system. Don’t get me wrong, the sound stage is amazing, it’s just lacking low end bass.

The subwoofer uses a cavity in the body that is 'tuned' for that specific driver (ie, the volume of compressable air in the cavity is coupled to the woofer cone mass and suspension compliance, to give a specific low frequency response curve). Just swapping in a different driver, without comparing the Thiel/Small characteristics will likely be very hit or miss.

This is interesting info. Wouldn’t that be the same as saying the air space (volume) of a box would affect 2 different subs that require the same airspace? From my understanding that cavity is sealed. Therefore contributing to the factory subwoofers total air volume. Even tho we don’t know how much air space we are working with exactly, I think it’s minuscule calculations. This audiofrog sub requires .25-.4 cubic feet. I’d hope that’s about what we are working with.
