Well, today is the last day to order a Tesla with the federal tax credit. Given that deliveries can still occur post 9/30/25 with the credit applied, I think it is unlikely to see a price change until after all pre-9/30 orders are delivered.

I'm thinking no cybertruck price changes until late November/early December 2025.

I do however think the 0%/2.49% financing will continue for the cybertruck.

What other thoughts does everyone have?

They usually wait a week or two after the quarter is over so people don't smart having bought something the day or two before.

The sticker price of an AWD Cybertruck -- as of today, which is still 3Q 2025 -- is $79,990. This translates to an effective price of $72,490 with the $7,500 tax credit. Let's say that Tesla decides to cut the sticker price in 4Q 2025, to compensate for the loss of the tax credit.

Why would Tesla need to wait for a few weeks before cutting the price? If you rushed to buy a CT before Sept. 30, it means that you wanted the $7,500 tax credit, so you paid only $72,490. If Tesla cuts the price by $7,500 after Sept. 30, to compensate for the loss of the tax credit, then the new sticker price will be ... $72,490. So you shouldn't be upset that you bought on September 30 vs. October 1 -- it would be the same price either way.

If you weren't eligible for the tax credit, and paid $79,990 on September 30, then OK, you might be upset if the price dropped to $72,490 on October 1. But my guess is that most of the (high-income) people in that situation know the score, and were waiting for 4Q 2025 anyway.

Looks like 0% w/ FSD purchase is now gone. Only 2.49% for 60 months special financing promo. Wonder if 0% will return?

Saying no, they already attempted this, RWD FAIL!

Tesla sold Model 3/Y in the past for $20k less but didn’t strip anything out, just the extra motor!

Tesla can’t hurt the profit margin if there are little or no sales already! Stop attempting selling the gimmick “Luxe” BEAST, maybe cancel that too.

Let’s go back to $49,990 and $69,990 and maybe they will sell!

Selling 250k at less price is better profit margin than selling 4000 a year at current or higher price.

Ready!

There is no going back to 2019 prices on anything.

Thank excessive fiscal stimulus, artificially low interest rates and ballooning government deficits triggered by both major parties in the US.

Doubtful soon, 2.49% is still listed as "promotional." Models S and X are at 6.19%. So unless Tesla shift gears and puts the Cybertruck with 3/Y with price cuts I don't see it happening.

Tesla normally takes a few weeks to adjust after a quarter. They'll let incentives expire and see what the order volume is before adjusting too much. I think eventually we will see a decontented AWD CT. It makes too much sense from a parts, R&D, cost, and volume standpoint. My guess is they announce mid to late Q4 with deliveries being Q1.

That said, we know the cheap Y is going to be announced soon and we are probably more likely than ever to see a flood of changes to lower the prices. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the cheap Y, LFP 3, LFP Y, and decontented AWD CT all being announced and delivered by the end of the year to keep volume up.

With only 11 days to go, there is an impressive lack of clarity regarding AWD Cybertruck pricing after October 1. Possible scenarios that have been suggested:

1. Tesla does nothing. Without the tax credit, the effective price of an AWD CT rises from $72,490 to $79,990, making it less affordable for most Americans.

2. Tesla allows the effective price of AWD CT to rise to $79,990, but adds attractive incentives to help compensate for the higher price. Could include some combination of lower interest rates, feature upgrades, free FSD, or free Supercharging,

3. Tesla repositions the AWD CT as a luxury vehicle, like the Model S or Model X. The new price is significantly higher than $79,990, but includes the Luxe Package.

4. To maintain the same level of affordability, Tesla lowers the retail price of an AWD CT, even though this hurts their profit margin. Maybe the price drops by $7,500 to $72,490, to fully compensate for the loss of the tax credit. Or maybe the price drops by $2,500 or $5,000, which would only partially compensate.

5. To maintain affordability while protecting their profit margins, Tesla offers a $72,490 "de-contented" version of the AWD CT, using features developed for the now-discontinued RWD CT. The traditional AWD CT stays at $79,990.
Follow-up: as of October 1, Tesla is apparently going with Scenario 1 -- which was the easiest, least interesting option. They have retained the 2.49% financing deal, but since that is not a new incentive, it doesn't qualify as Scenario 2.

Don’t know about you guys but for me; the section 179 benefit of a Cybertruck is much more impactful than $7500.

You could do both if buying as a commercial vehicle. Wasn't either or.

True. I’m just saying, just because the $7500 is gone doesn’t make it a “purely on me” purchase

There is no rumor on a cheap S/X or Cheaper CT. We know for sure a Cheap MY is coming and some believe a cheap M3.
