I have a work trip next week in Indianapolis and would like to drive my CT. I am from Nashville and haven't had issues like some places with vandalism and negative attention. They are having a No Kings thing on Saturday, and I have to be there Sunday, so I'm hoping to miss all of that. I have a Model Y I can drive, but the CT is way more comfortable, but I don't want to take a chance if the climate there is not as supportive as TN. Not a political post, just trying to keep my favorite vehicle safe from crazy people.

Thinking the same thing. It's a shame I can't just drive the vehicle I want because somehow it's a political statement. People need to get over this stuff with the CT.

Perfect time to use the cybertruck horn!

Their "events" make me lol. Maybe this time they'll have better messaging/appearance but last time it was hilarious to watch.

Also there's no sense in backing down. Just drive the vehicle like any other. If anything I'm more courteous in it to help keep the image clean. And no I don't blow the horn at protestors, but I imagine if they step onto the roadway at least I have a suitable horn to scare them off. And sentry to record things. Just retain evidence, submit police reports, etc., and it'll come to an end once they realize it makes them look stupid.

Don’t let terrorists terrorize you into changing your behavior- this is how they win.

That also means using common sense to not raise tensions but it means to not be afraid of driving a vehicle you own. My CT is not a political statement so anyone making into one is an amoral piece of…

Agreed, not scared, really just don't want to deal with the BS. I have never been to Indy, so I didn't know how it is perceived there. I think all the nonsense is completely stupid. I get they don't like how it looks, but to hate it cause of politics is stupid. I bought it for me, not to make a statement.

It’s been almost 2 years now and we still have posts like this. Very sad.

And very valid concern still, OP. Nothing against you, just sad that we’re still dealing with this.

On the flip side, I still get kids jumping up and down waving. Seems the hype is still alive for some.

I agree with everything you said. Kids are thrilled when they see it. Elon said the future should look like the future. It has a polarizing design in the first place, and then, for whatever reason, the left attached a political statement to it. I personally bought it because to me it's like a spaceship, and I have always been fascinated with space and sci-fi. I keep thinking any day now, all this will be over. It will simply be a regular car that people like or dislike aesthetically as soon as I think we're there, someone posts another video of someone crazy keying one, or I saw a new one yesterday in Charlotte, where someone slashed the tires on X. It's got to stop eventually, right?

If you can avoid the situation all together you should. It would just antagonize the simpler ones and you really don’t want this trouble, especially across state lines

I drive mine through Minneapolis ever day. I wouldn't think twice about Indy. Just do what makes you happy and if that makes someone mad that's really their problem.

I had the same concern driving for a week in San Francisco for my wife’s surgery. In the end my feeling was that the model Y would be much easier to inflict costly damage than the CT, so we took the CT. Far more people expressed their desire to see the CT. Only three thumbs down and one bird in two weeks

Indiana is very good. I drive there all the time, and get approval from nearly everyone. In some areas, people seem so surprised to see one (South Bend area) that I wonder if they've sold many there. I've yet to have a negative reaction to my Cyberbeast in Indiana. I'd do it. Don't let them win.
