If my CT can pick me up at the ski slope entrance and park itself it would save me quite a few minutes of walking across a huge parking lot while wearing clunky boots, carrying heavy gear, and managing young kids.
FSD 15....I hope sooner but going distances where we cannot see the car likely to be awhile...maybe even HW5. But honestly 14 is so so so safe and even scared I think 14 could do it.

"We're going to end up with complete autonomy, and I think we will have complete autonomy in approximately two years." --Elon, Dec 2015

"I consider autonomous driving to be a basically solved problem. ... We're less than two years away from complete autonomy. Regulators however will take at least another year; they'll want to see billions of miles of data." --Elon, June 2016

"I think we will be feature complete — full self-driving — this year, meaning the car will be able to find you in a parking lot, pick you up and take you all the way to your destination without an intervention, this year. I would say I am of certain of that. That is not a question mark." --Elon, Feb 2019

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Elon. And without a doubt FSD has come a long, long way. But, yeah, Elon can be a tad optimistic.

He didn’t say that exactly though. He essentially said it would be good enough to technically allow you to do that. Not that they’d enable it.

Yes, he never accounts for red tape Bureaucracy and people literally cutting off Teslas especially Cybertruck due to their ignorant hate. All things considered still very impressive timeline that we've gotten this far.

Yeah, that's Elon for "sure, it's able to, but you won't be"
My basic reading and hearing skills do not allow me to speculate beyond what was said by Mr. Musk and transcribed.

There's not a regulatory body in the country who will allow it any time soon.

lets just be realistic here.

Just a year ago, it was not realistic for Robotaxis to be on the road because of regulations imposed on Waymo. No way Tesla will be able to operate Robotaxis they say.

I understand what you’re saying. Let’s just wait and see. With Trump, regulations for self-driving has been cut drastically. So, who knows?! B/w you and me, I think that Elon has way more knowledge about regulations than both of us combined.

Before Elon light bars across the front were illegal. (DRL) Now just about everyone has them. it's like they were all ready to go and just needed Tesla to go first, and change the regulations.

There is no such “regulation”. There are only regulatory responses to perceived or actual risk conditions/events. It is amazing how free auto manufacturers are to experiment with new tech. Some states do have limited regs. However, Elon and others cite regulatory approval as a red herring from time to time.
