So, I'm at 4700 miles, and I recently pulled off the covers in the frunk to thread some wiring, and noticed my coolant fill tank was empty. I've noticed no leakage. And there does not seem to be any error codes in the service menu. No issues whatsoever.

My service center is 2 ½hrs away, and I was wondering if I should just top up the coolant, myself, rather than have to make a big trip. Looking at the manual:
Tesla Cybertruck Coolant fluid top-off? by default 2025-11-07 at 9.47.55 AM

I've never given coolant much thought, but it looks like they're color-coded, and that HTF-LS is orange, and is OAT, ie Organic Acid Tech. The three main brands, Prestone, Zerex and Peak all sell an orange OAT coolant, but none have any HTF-LS markings. Can I use it?

Anyone know?

Oh, I've never looked at the coolant tank before, so I have no idea if the truck came like that or not. But, as I mentioned, there does not seem to be any leaking or error codes. Should I top up, and keep an eye on it, and if it drops, schedule a service?

You shouldn't have an empty coolant tank. There must be a leak (or not properly filled at the assembly). I would have it check with SS.

And I did look in the Tesla parts catalog:

and it says "not sold by Tesla, order from 3rd party, and shows a bottle of Zerex. Obviously that's the blue G48 version.

and when you punch in the part number, you do get the orange HTF-LS version, but like the previous image, it says the same thing to order from 3rd party.

The only other thing I did was to look in the service menu at the coolant loop for possible errors:

Wait. I’m going to need this dumbed down a little. Where is said coolant tank? How do you inspect it?

Are you talking about the last image? The coolant loop? That's in the service menu. Access the service menu, go down to the snowflake in the menu and one of the options in the list shows the octovalve coolant loop.

If you mean the coolant tank, it's in the frunk. Take off the top trim piece and you can see the top of the washer tank, on left; the top of the brake fluid tank, on right; and the coolant tank in the middle. I realized I couldn't see any fluid thru the side of the tank, so I opened it and looked.

You can see droplets of fluid on the top of the bottle, but nothing shows on the sides. Open it, it's virtually empty.

Hmm, youd think there would be a warning about low coolant. Theres one for the windshield fluid. Not sure if like a gas engine, most of the coolant stays in the system and the reservoir is more for overflow and filling? I wonder if theres a procedure to check coolant level

For sure. There is a procedure for taking a shit at Tesla. Wait patiently and @mongo or someone will post it here eventually. lol.

Ummm... I'm don't have a procedure #2 in my reference book.
However, as regards coolant, one can test thermal system performance, but I wouldn't recommend adding coolant since that could mask an internal pack or drive unit leak (though issue was more likely an air bubble that was finally burped).

I'm pretty sure there is a low coolant warning. The reservoir has the "Max" fill line, and then I assume the seam is the minimum line.
