So, I'm at 4700 miles, and I recently pulled off the covers in the frunk to thread some wiring, and noticed my coolant fill tank was empty. I've noticed no leakage. And there does not seem to be any error codes in the service menu. No issues whatsoever.
My service center is 2 ½hrs away, and I was wondering if I should just top up the coolant, myself, rather than have to make a big trip. Looking at the manual:
I've never given coolant much thought, but it looks like they're color-coded, and that HTF-LS is orange, and is OAT, ie Organic Acid Tech. The three main brands, Prestone, Zerex and Peak all sell an orange OAT coolant, but none have any HTF-LS markings. Can I use it?
Anyone know?
Oh, I've never looked at the coolant tank before, so I have no idea if the truck came like that or not. But, as I mentioned, there does not seem to be any leaking or error codes. Should I top up, and keep an eye on it, and if it drops, schedule a service?
