I saw a pile of leaves on the road—literally, a landscaper was blowing them onto the road. I was in the right lane of a three-lane highway, and I was terrified....and it ran through the leaves without a hitch!
I tried it today in the CT. It's much better than the X. The X has 14.1.4 and the CT has 14.1.5.

I tested it all day and it's better but it's still in no place to be unsupervise, it's definitely more hesitant on doing things, a couple of times it wouldn't make a choice between street lanes and was just doing this wheel saw back and forth before I finally had to take over. It works good on freeway metters now and if did a good job with emergency vehicles. I'm about to start a YouTube channel called fsd failures because it's done some crazy stuff with me and I always just have it set to standard I don't know what I would do if mad Max went wrong loll

If I’m being honest…it’s awful. Locked up the brakes on me because it saw a falling leaf. Be careful
Ha-ha! At least I assume you are joking. FSD cannot lock up the brakes because it can only send braking commands to the braking system which is always filtered through the ABS which prevents brake lockup by sampling the wheel speed sensors at 1000 HZ (1000 times per second).

So if anyone tells you it slammed on the brakes so hard that "the tires were screeching", that's how you know they are making it up.

The only complaint I have so far is them taking away our ability to adjust the specific speed with the right scroll wheel. Taking away an option is never a good idea in my opinion. They could've easily just added the option to choose what you want the right scroll wheel to do. Whether to adjust the speed or to adjust driver profile. That would've made this update perfect imo.

I have the notice for the update...
.
Is this the update that removed the scroll wheel speed adjustment?
It will render FSD almost useless for me. To many time the truck reads imaginary speed limit signs and will do 25 mph on a 45 mph area. School zones are bad also it will read a 20mph school speed limit at 9 pm. There are many schools where I live and the truck stays at 20 and sometimes less then 20 for a mile till it sees the 30 sign or what ever the limit is on the road before or after the school. I'm going to enjoy 38.8 till I hear some good reports.
I was considering holding back on the update too when I got the notification last night after reading they had taken away the ability to adjust the speed with the right scroll wheel, but I was hoping there would be some sort of option, but there isn't, so yeah, you might want to hold off till unsupervised FSD comes, or at least it allows you to text and drive. But on mine the lane centering definitely seems to have improved. Tried the curbside parking option upon arrival once so far and didn't do too well with that. Will wait to see how it does overall as I continue to use it. I have a 5 hour drive tomorrow morning that I'm kind of dreading without being able to use my lag eliminator device now that they changed what the right scroll wheel does...also the partial camera blockage seems to be more strict now. On my first 35 min drive it wouldn't allow me to use FSD at all with the camera partially blocked. But now on this 2nd drive with it being night time now it seems to be allowing me, but is also nagging me with steering wheel pressure every now and then (not bad overall), but not really bugging me to pay attention as I am on FSD right now typing this with my phone right in front of me 🤔. Could be just because it's dark. We will see tomorrow as I'll be driving 5 hours during daylight

First, I have questions!
The notes say that I can select a parking spot at the destination or whether I am parking in a driveway, garage etc. Yet I see nothing onscreen where I can select that whether I put in an address manually or choose from a favorite. What am I missing?

Second, my first test was to plot a route to a store about 5 miles away. I started in my garage and it backed out of the garage and drove me all the way to the store without issue. I am testing in Standard mode for now. The truck arrives to the start, pulls into the parking lot, drives along the rows and decides it wants to park in a handicap spot, despite there being a handicap sign on the wall in front of the space and the handicap logo painted on the ground. I had to stop it and manually drive to another spot.

Third, I decided to drive to my mom's house to drop off some items. Again, I see no way to select whether to end in her driveway or garage or street, etc. so I just let the truck navigate to her house. The truck does so just fine, although being a little tentative at times but again I am in standard mode so maybe that comes with the territory. The truck arrives at my mom's and decides not to pull into her open driveway but rather just park in front of her house at the curb. At the curb might be a misnomer, check out these pics of the parking job:

Not only is it feet from the curb but it is also blocking half of my mom's driveway! Well this isn't stellar that's for sure.

Fourth I decided to FSD my way to the annual HOA meeting, while on my way there I decided I wanted to stop at Quick Trip to get a drink so I'm not thirsty during the meeting. Adding a stop while on FSD is a little tricky because if you don't do it fast enough it squawks at you for looking at the screen too long. I got it done and the stop was added. The truck reaches Quick Trip and pulls into the QT lot, proceeds to pass many open parking spots and drive around the far side of the building, find a spot and park there. OK well mission accomplished but not what any reasonable person would have done.

Fifth, I continue on my way to the HOA meeting and FSD pulls out of the spot and instead of turning right and getting on the road to where the HOA meeting is being held, it instead decides to go left out of the lot, turn right down another road, then state that it is going to pull a U-turn at which point it sat in the left turn and didn't do anything for a bit so I took over and pulled the U-turn and drove the rest of the way myself.

Sixth, after the HOA meeting I plotted the route home and truck drove there flawlessly and decided to pull into my driveway in the middle row of 3 rows but did not pull into the garage despite the garage being open and again I saw no way to choose where to end up.

So is it better that v13? Sure, but I'd like to know how it is supposed to do some of the things advertised in the description of the update. I should probably watch some YouTube influencer videos perhaps to discover how to choose destination particulars, but honestly shouldn't it be obvious to me? I would think so, but it doesn't appear to be.

Thanks for listening!

There’s an option there it might be hard to see.

So while driving I have to tap on the screen to bring up a menu and then choose where to park. While having that as an option is "fine" it is a miss in my mind to not present that option at the time you are first entering the destination you want to go to...

I had quite a disappointing experience with the FSD v14.1.7 in my Cybertruck.

I had all sorts of problems with it: wrong turning lanes, strange maneuvers across the lane on the road within about... 15 ft, phantom braking, multiple braking due to uncertainty, and turning onto the dividing lane instead of a lane.

I will film it all tomorrow. It's comparable to the first FSD v13 builds. Feels very rough.

For clarification, I drove during light rain, and it was already dark out, but it shouldn't affect it this way.

The Tesla team should probably stop sending the early builds to their most loyal testers and send them to those who can provide criticism. They should also test it in different conditions and different places more.

It'll definitely improve down the road, as it always has, but it's not great right now.

Tested in Kelowna, BC.

You’re not wrong I completely agree. It should prompt the user prior to starting self driving.

I'm getting more parking distance impaired messages with the update. Then it started to rain and I was getting those messages as it was driving. When it pulled into my driveway, it picked the middle of the driveway. Why? I definitely do not like losing the ability to use the scroll wheel to adjust the max speed.

Welp, leaving daycare this afternoon was unpleasant. CT was so sentient that it made a very human error. There's a weird drop-off when exiting the parking lot to loop around to the front of the building. It backed out with authority, shifted to drive, and then drove the driver's side wheel right over the drop-off, slamming onto what I assume is the battery casing and then sheared off the rear fairing. Scared the hell out of me and my wife (baby didn't notice). It was still in the process of lifting from entry mode, which is why I assume it high centered/slid off.

Definitely plan on submitting it this to SC or just tagging the Cybertruck X account asking if this will be covered since I sure as shit would have never done something this dumb. Front bumper camera has a new edge case to train on I guess.

I’m not sure why people can’t grasp this yet. There’s no such thing as a failure for supervised beta software. If it does something stupid, take over and send a voice message about why you took over. These idiots on YouTube with their FSD fails just make themselves look like incompetent drivers. You see the dummy let his car hit a pole parking head-in in a parking lot? Yeah, his fault. You see the dummies let the car run the school bus stop sign and run over the fake kid crossing the street? Their fault.

It’s still SUPERVISED. Supervision isn’t so you can be a YouTube star, it’s so the system can learn while you keep it from making dumb mistakes. This is how software evolves. But if you’re happy smearing the Tesla brand while the rest of us work on it, it’s a free country I suppose.
