Got the new one last night. 44 miles into Washington D.C. this morning. yawn. It's really good. At one point, driving along, it just suddenly freaked out "Take over now!" kind of thing. I was paying attention and there was nothing going on. I took over and reengaged it. After that, all was well again until I got to work. It wanted to go past the parking lot, back on the main roads and around to the actual front of the building. I park in a lot that's pretty far from the building but still on the property.

I found the issue. I had to remove my work location and re-add it as the parking lot. Tomorrow should be more uneventful even than today.

No stabby brakes, no weird routes, no phantom brakes, no problem with the Standard, Hurry, Mad Max, or Chill modes. I switch through them depending on what's going on. For instance, you absolutely can't speed on the road in front of my building. There are multiple police vehicles/people maintaining security and who also do speed control while waiting around.

Does it come with a bumper sticker?

Doesn’t but probably should. Unfortunately there is a significant amount of regression in this build.

Maybe my wife will like it better. She has repeatedly indicated she thinks v14 is too bold.
While I don’t agree I’m sure she’s not the only one who feels this way.

I think V14 is far more scared at red lights, stop signs, or left turns...It's dangerous because it goes, then slams on brakes.

Best of luck. My wife hates every version of FSD. Not an early adopter. Also doesn't like stopping for any reason no matter the length of the drive. For me stopping to charge is NBD. Version 4 superchargers this weekend were at 123 Kw, nowhere near 325. Can't wait for real version 4 speeds up to 500Kw.

Wouldn’t it be cool if they made something like the range extender that you could just switch out? You pull into a spot, hoist out the empty one and replace it with a full one and keep driving?
I realize this is likely expensive and impractical but think about how much time that might save cumulatively.

I doubt that she will it’s really been a net negative, unfortunately. To be clear though this is my report regarding my CT. It seemed to have done much better on my S.

Pardon the confusion, but are you folks going from 13 directly to 14.2.0? Or did you all already have 14.1.7?

I've had 14.1.7 and the release notes for 14.2 look identical to me...

The release notes are similar, but there are a few additions.

Most of us have/had 14.1.7.

Well, first drive…

-Speed profiles toned down. The whiner folks on X have really done it. It’s like each speed profile moved left one or two slots. I’m now getting passed on mad max on the thruway, hurry is like 5 over, standard was 1mph under the limit often.

-3 brake stabs on one drive. I’ve not had any on 14.1.7. Maybe anecdotal and maybe I just need to clean my cameras.

-NAV seems weird as other others have mentioned. My truck no longer navigates into my company parking lot and backs into the charger like it did on 14.1.7. It’s behaving like it did on V13 in this regard, just aimless.

I hope some of the above was just a fluke from this one drive. I’ll clean my cameras and we’ll see how it does on the way home.

It’s certainly very smooth otherwise. I feel like stop and go at stops signs is smoother.
Welp, drove around a bit more, i officially want 14.1.7 back.

14.2 is over nerfed, so i essentially need to be in a hurry to drive normally like everyone else around me, except on open back roads where it’s a few mph too fast, where before it was perfect on standard. Also, at the same time, on some country roads were the speed limit is not detected, it reads 25 and it drives way too slow(even on mad max), and there’s nothing I can do except hold the gas pedal or disengage.

not thrilled currently… This feels like v12 type behaviors on CT.
