I was on the freeway yesterday when a car decided to cut in front of me from right lane. He went to left lane, then swiveled back all the way to the right of the freeway and went away without hitting anyone. The scene was like in Hollywood movie. It happened so fast right in front of my eyes, and for a moment I thought my CT-FS would hit this car hard and caused a major accident on the freeway. Miraculously, nothing happened and everyone was safe.

I was driving the truck without FSD engaged.

Thanks God and Tesla.

wow!!! Looks like the white Mercedes switch to the left line and the car trying to avoid an accident and lost control… lucky that he recovered safely

Yeah, the White Mercedes SUV changing lane that started the whole fiasco. Luckily no one got hurt.

I wonder if it may be a legal issue if I post a video of a car with license plate visible. So just to be safe, I trimmed the dashcam video short and spent some time to blur the sedan's license plate.

None of this would have happened if every vehicle was driven by FSD instead of humans. Just sayin’…
I would not be surprised if in about 10 years, insurances would force cars to use ADAS and have dashcams.

No more Saturday night drunk drivers entering freeways using the wrong exit.

Dunno, not a lawyer; but, you're in public, their license plate is visible to the public. I don't see why anyone would be entitled to privacy.

Glad your CT saved the day even without FSD engaged, OP. (y)

Sorry for my novice question — Does CT automatically avoid such accidents by default, or do I need to enable some ‘accident avoidance settings’ under the Control menu? Just want to make sure.

Thanks,

Looks like white SUV was reacting to silver sedan that merged into them

No sedan visible in lane (but that might be its roof in the SUV back window)
