Ya, and what about lockers? Front and rear lockers is one of the main selling points for me.
Yes to mechanical front/rear diff lockers. You can go on the Tesla site "compare" to confirm.

Well I guess this officially confirms what we've suspected all along -- the Tesla Cybertruck team does follow this forum. They obviously saw that previous thread and thought "Yeah, a lower-priced AWD Lite -- that could work".

So if you are a Tesla employee lurking on this thread, we say: "Good job -- and thanks for reading".

There's just one little thing though. We were expecting this move in 4Q 2025. You're six weeks late.
Actually even later than that. If you place an order right now, the Order Page says to expect delivery in June.

I sure didn't see that one coming. I think the Cybertruck is back in the game ...

I think the "vault" means it has the extra storage bay, L-tracks, and more LED bed lighting.

Edit, official answer:
So the smuggles bay is not the vault, it is just what makes the vault. Which in my opinion is a stupid, if the bed locks, it’s a vault. Smugglers bay doesn’t lock, and it’s not more secure because of the L-Track. It should have just said “vault with no smugglers bay” it’s just as “vault-y” as it was before.

I hope this thing sells really well.

Sorry if I missed this but anyone know if the vault plugs and PowerShare capabilities are the same?
because frankly, at 60k it sounds like less than 9 powerwalls.
Same battery, because you can config the $60K version with the same 20" Core wheels as the $80K version, and they both show 325mi of range.

I confirmed via the website the $60K version just has standard (i.e. less) bed lighting. I realize that doesn't necessarily define 'vault', but it's still a difference.

If you calculate the usable range of the battery from %20 to %80, that is using %60 of 123KW pack, or 73.8kwh, which is about 6.4 Powerwalls equivilant at 11.5Kwh per Powerwall.. most keep their battery at %80, and it's best to not drain it below %20. So, yes it has the equivilant CAPACITY of 6 Powerwalls, but the not the amperage, as they each can output 11.5KW of power each, Cybertruck is 11.5KW in total, but for longer..

It has electric tonneau cover. Steer by wire and four wheel steering. The bed outlets. Honestly this is pretty much everything that makes the CT amazing. Only thing missing is air suspension.
yeah I agree. Air suspension is the major removal. But it's still got most of the good stuff.

Luxe package removed from the beast is $15k less now - no more getting the lifetime FSD and free supercharging - that is a bummer, that was a deal for many in high KWH$ areas

This should bump the sales for sure.
Yes, but Tesla technically reports "deliveries", not sales. And the order page indicates that if you order now, you can expect delivery in June.

So there will be no effect on 1Q 2026 deliveries, and probably only a limited effect on 2Q 2026 deliveries. We'll have to wait for 3Q 2026 to see the full impact on the numbers.

I think they did a great job with $60k AWD model here vs. the terrible $70k RWD config.

So compared to current AWD @ $80k. This is what the $20k extra "Premium" pays for
- Air Suspension
- Textile Seats / No Cooling
- No White Seats / Trim
- Standard Console (vs. Premium)
- No Cabin Outlets
- No Premium Audio (7 speaker vs. 15), No Active Noise cancellation
- No Rear Display
- Standard Bed Lamps vs. Full length bed lamps
- No L-Tracks
- No Gear Locker / Vault
- Standard Tail lamps (probably no red light bar in the tail gate)
- 7500 lb vs 11,000 lb towing
- 2006 lb vs 2500 lb payload
- 18" Wheels vs 20" Core Wheels
- 4680 Dry Cathode batteries (supercharging speed is different, 132 miles/15min vs 137/15 on the premium AWD)

Am I missing anything, or get something wrong?
Heated steering wheel

The Cyberbeast was $114,990 with the Luxe Package. Now it's $99,990 without.
I stand corrected! Thank you for pointing out my error. I’m still out without it but at least the lowered the price.
