I can smell it in the cabin. It’s much stronger in the bed. It seems to be coming from the compartment, the bed cover rolls up into.

It smells like a dead animal. I’m only guessing but possibly an iguana crawled in there to keep warm during a recent cold snap and died.

Has anyone else had an animal die somewhere in the truck. Where should I look to access this area, is it something I can take apart myself, or is this something best left to the service department?

I would pick up the panel over the air compressor and see if there is something there. https://service.tesla.com/docs/Cybe...UID-5454FCCE-7BE6-404F-86A1-5D54D4A1438A.html

Could be under the vault bed too, lot of cracks down there that allow all kinds of junk to accumulate, makes for a good rat nest on top of the compressor etc.

Just wait it out - that rat will eventually get maggots that will eat up the rat and than the smell will disappear. Hopefully the rats did not chew up any wires. If it did - your comprehensive coverage will pay for repairs done by vermin.
