A month! Awesome job Reid! Probably can hear a pin drop inside while going down the highway. Just finished the video, what an extensive breakdown.

very impressive. sounds like it took many many hours to get it done.

I know your not a fan of drilling a hole in the tailgate, there is a kickstarter where he has seperate self contained system mounted behind the license plate, operated by a remote control button. but he has to "stand it off" from the mount by quite a bit, so the washer can reach the camera. maybe a hybrid of this, where you mount the washer down by the plate on some kind of stand off so it can hit the camera, but run the hose from the front camera washer so it activates with the side & front license plate washer

here is his link:

will send you a PM about having some work done.

Thank you so much for the informative videos. I am halfway through the door deadening fix (fronts done - waiting for another free weekend to do the rears). I appreciate the summary at the end highlighting the highest ROI work.

I can also second your observation about the decibel meter not being a very good metric. I bought one because I wanted to quantify the change in an un-subjective way. I mounted it at head level in the passenger seat and recorded the sound levels on my commute for the entire trip. Saw no difference in the decibel meter reading after adding the front door panel sound dampening even though I notice the difference (primarily, I hear the road sound coming in from the rear now instead of the front). So I decided to borrow my wife's model S which, we both agree, is the quietest of our vehicles and was surprised it registered almost the exact same sound level on the freeway. I then tried our 2011 Nissan Leaf which we feel is the loudest. Same noise level according to the meter. I am theorizing that the meter is not as sensitive to high frequency as our ears and the lower frequencies (which are not damped much) are dominating the meter reading.

Road noise aside, the door fix made a big difference in bass distortion for certain songs. It absolutely ruined some songs that rang the doors like a bell and the edit completely eliminated that problem (in the front anyway. I now hear it in the back - I really need to find time to finish the job :) ). Again, thanks for the videos - I found them very helpful.
