I had my pickup today and had to unfortunately decline the delivery because there were a few damages to the trim/fenders and the truck bed looked discolored. I was informed the bed is generally not clean and uniform in color. Touch up with trim restorer during pre-delivery cleanup is apparently pretty common.

Can anyone with a recent 2026 build post some photos of your truck bed, and share their experience with delivery and if their truck bed was also restored with a trim restore polish product? Would love to get some reference points. Thanks!

I used to care how clean the bed was in my first 6 months… now I mostly blow it out and am done with it.

What do you mean by discoloration? If it was the white soap scummy issue? Diluted vinegar worked like a charm.

I agree the truck should be perfect, but it’s also a nonissue. Expecting perfect for cosmetics from Tesla… let’s just say it may take a bit.
FYI you can generally get these addressed, just start a ticket and document everything when you get home or at the lot within first 100 miles.

The composite bed of the Cybertruck is super tough. I don't know anything about "discoloration" issues. All I ever do to it is sweep or blow it out and occasionally wash it with a bucket of soap and water and a truck washing brush (about once every 3-4 times that I wash the truck).

Here it is after I cut some firewood recently:

Then I swept it out with that little hand broom:

Two weeks later I still hadn't washed it with soap/water but I picked up a workbench:

I'll probably clean it up good within the next couple of weeks but I have one more load of wood to get before I waste the time. I'm sure it will look great, just like it always does after I wash it. I love the bed!

And you still don't have a Cybertruck?

I hauled stacks of folding chairs recently.

Inner Voice 1: "Those chairs left scratches and white paint on my truck!"
Inner Voice 2: "Dude. It's a truck."
Inner Voice 1: "Oh"

Cybertruck beds will never look like this. But what would be a bigger shame is if it goes to the crusher without any evidence of having done anything useful! That's the problem with the Cybertruck's bed, the visible evidence that you've actually used your truck as a truck is very slight! :(

As for the delivery:

I got a call from the Ft Worth delivery center this last Saturday saying the truck would arrive in Ft Worth Monday night, and that I HAD to pick it up Tuesday, March 31. They said if I could not pick it up on Tuesday, they would sell it to someone else. I had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday and could not get it that day. They pissed me off, but I figured I would take my chances if they could really find someone to take a delivery that quickly. Luckily, the truck really arrived in Ft Worth on Sunday morning. I received an automated message on Sunday about 10 AM telling me to schedule the delivery. The app let me set the delivery for Sunday afternoon. I scheduled a 3 PM pickup, but they called and said they needed more time to prep the truck, so I rescheduled for 5 PM.

I got there, and the truck was ready. There were no issues, except that they could not get me a temp Texas license plate due to a problem with the state's issuing system. Luckily, I had my old plate with me, and put it on, so at least it looked legal. They got the plate on Monday and overnighted it to me since I live 2 hours away.

I picked up my truck 3 days ago. Nothing has gone into the bed yet. I have not even climbed into it.

Oh man, memories of May 2024 when I took delivery of my FS AWD.

My bed definitely doesn't look like that now, haha!!

You may be able to search threads that reference bed discoloration. I have a '24 Foundation that started having the discoloration at a certain part (I rarely use the bed).

This is typical. I've bought 2 Teslas and helped family, friends and neighbors with 5 other deliveries. They always say you have to pick it up at such and such a time or lose it. All you have to do is talk to someone in charge and say you can't pick it up that day. In 2 cases we had to delay delivery for a week. Never has been a real issue. One of the reasons for this is that there are often only a couple dedicated delivery experts for a given area with multiple stores. They're very good but they're only at a certain location a couple times a week. There's 4 nearby Tesla stores in my area and I believe that we've had the same delivery guy for all 7 deliveries. The upside is that he can wade through just about any hitch that pops up during delivery, and there have been several.

Tesla is less flexible at the end of quarters and almost inflexible at the end of the year. They are trying to move vehicles for numbers.
