RWD was too just outrageously too much, the $59k Ten day truck is now gone, (Silly Board Members!) that would have been the sweet spot to get to 250k CT sold a year. LOL!

In the end was Tesla just testing the waters with the Lightning gone and so possibly get ahead of the R2, REV, Slate, Scout and Recon being released later this year and next?

So many options very soon.

I think the $59,990 price comes back as production ramps, and Tesla can actually supply demand. I think they saw that people will buy the fantasy of owning a Cybertruck, but grow impatient while waiting for it. Once they saw production would push in to 2027, they dynamically adjusted the price to stifle demand.

Production of what ramps?

You think the different seats and suspension are preventing production?

I think it was a negative margin test of the market.

I’m excited to watch them get back to these production levels!

Regarding the lighting, this is what the site says:
Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive:
Standard bed lamps
Standard tail lamps

Premium All-Wheel Drive:
Premium bed lamps
Premium tail lamps

I think headlights are the same

I agree but until we see one in the flesh it’s questionable if compared to the RWD. I can’t see them having a special headlight assembly for just one trim but they have done it before.

Yeah tesla has a strong history of using vague language and then changing descriptions to fit their needs or narratives later.

Well perhaps whatever changes we don’t see are required for a production ramp. Maybe DBE, which was designed to be a cost saver, over the imported LG jelly roll. Currently they are building zero trucks. Premium orders are taking 8 to 12 weeks in some cases.

Tend to agree. Why go out of your way to redesign the headlight assembly. The bigger cost items there just removing all together.

Agree. I think this is the primary driver for the delayed ramp-up - the dry electrode anode and cathode 4680 Battery cell is now ready for production.

I suspect it helped improve margins to allow the $59.9 price point - but they needed a quick burst in volume to get the costs down, hence the $59.9K DM AWD truck. Once production ramps and they can have 4-6 week delivery times, I'd bet the price point returns.

That's not accurate. They are building truck daily as shown in flyovers last week.

Yes there building premium trim trucks… I don’t think there’s been a single standard AWD thru the production line..

Are you watching those videos? Joe said production is down last week and this week. I’ve only watched a few of Joes videos lately, but he’s said that in each one.
