My apologies, that's what I meant by stock wheels. My correction will be wheels --> Tires. I have Wrangler RT tires and have been an absolute beast when it comes to terrain challenge.

This moron went with stock wheels into the sand dunes not expecting to get stuck. I have a Cybertruck and I've driven in just about every terrain you can think of with no issue.
He needs to be grateful the tow hitch didn't get ripped off after the initial jerk pull from the recovery vehicle since it wasn't in neutral. This could've ended very badly for him. My guess is, there might actually be some structural damage even if the tow hitch didn't yank off - he'll most likely realize this during his next Service Center visit.

Yeah, kinetic rope recovery isn't as harsh. The vehicle being recovered should accelerate toward the direction of travel, so that as soon as it's pulled toward traction, it could move forward on its own, reducing additional wear and tear on the engine of the recovery vehicle. (In this specific instance, the CT should be reversing). Or at least be put in neutral so it doesn't fight the recovery vehicle.

This is true! I thought I made a mistake once a while back, but it turns out I was wrong.
We had a guy in our town get stuck off-roading in mud with his kids in a temporary inland lake after a big rainstorm a few years ago. Had a friend try to tow him out…anyhow, his kids sat next to him in the truck watched him die when the tow rope snapped and recoiled somehow through the windshield and into him, resulting in death.
