Different spin on a well-covered topic. As an early 2024 Foundation owner, I'm watching this closely. Are there any indicators (in service mode) this issue might happen or does it just all-of-the-sudden occur? If I looked inside service mode would there be any telling signs?

It seems to be happening so frequently inside the VIN range of my model that I'm hesitent to take it on a long road trip.

My PCS issue is weird, I can still super charge but my home wall charger now refuses to charge. The only things I noticed was that it would randomly stop charging and then restart on its own some seconds later. App would tell me charging stoped at random miles. I just figured it was getting hot. I have service apt Tuesday for lightbar they will likely keep it now. Also something’s up with my AI computer, last week it would give red hands due to system error, now it’s just puts a message on the screen “AI computer needs service”

I’ve literally got the exact same issue. Stopped charging with a home wall charger (first randomly, then completely) yet charges at a supercharger. However, I’m fearful of traveling with it as I’ve read so many stories on this forum about problems supercharging later on. Also, Service Centers are stating that getting PCS replacement parts are becoming an issue with them being out of stock.

I noticed mine a bit early due to charging speed. My home charger is set to 40A, and it began charging at 24A. This lasted about a week until Saturday when it fully went out and has no AC charging ability. Service center just messaged me that they hope to get part in for fix in mid to late May. Giving me a loaner for the in between- but definitely seeing supply constraints.

If I am understanding this issue correctly, long road trips wouldn't be affected by this issue as Supercharging is DC fast charge as opposed to the PCS only controlling AC charging from a mobile or wall charger, correct? I never charge my 79k VIN at home as I have free SC through August 15th but I did plug it in to my mobile charger (which we charge our Model Y with) and my CT pulled 32amps. No PCS errors in Service Mode either so fingers crossed. I did make a service appt and added some other small items that I am going to book out for like June or July just to ensure I have a blocked appt. time in the event the recall happens LOL.

PCS failure seems to eventually prevent SC as well.

It did for me...started off with home charging reduced, the AC charging failed, then SC failed and I had to get towed.

I got mine about 6,200 further along the production line... That's almost 36,000 miles ago. No early signs for me. {frantically looking for some wood to knock on}

Never use Tesla Super Charger, but thanks to these forums, noticed just recently that my home charging went from 48amp down to 24amp. Had an existing appt to swap out winter for all seasons so added to the list. Local SC had for a week, but supposed to pick up tomorrow and PCS issue supposedly fixed (see screenshot below). My VIN was in the 32k range.

Should I be concerned/ask about re-sealing the compartment given the recent YouTube video about dust getting in and frying the battery after this fix?

Tesla is pushing an update to re-enable DC charging when AC charging has totally failed.

FS CT VIN 15506. PCS failure at ~26K. Preceded by home charging “irregularities”, namely the CT kept bumping my 40amp preset to 48amps (triggering the 50amp breaker it’s serviced by), making home charging impossible. I eventually got the “no home charging available; get serviced” warning. Supercharger always worked. PCS replaced during three week service; Tesla paid for it (I also upgraded my CT breaker to 60 amp).

Your Wall Connector should have been set to 40A. If it was and truck still went to 48A, there is a software issue.
Is the wiring the correct gauge for a 60A breaker, 48A charge current?

My Gen 3 home wall connector was set to 40amp. I do have the Tesla One app and did access my charger to confirm config was set to 40amp. (Tesla refused to acknowledge it was their CT internal software issue.) Yes, I had to rewire, up the gauge to 6AWG from 8AWG when I swapped out the 50amp breaker for a 60amp.

Very scary for all, such a letdown and violation of consumer trust. Why so many so fast? Know it’s probably 2% of all sold but no one wants to wait and wonder if your next?!

I somehow missed the posts discussing this way back in December. Apparently mine has been doing the same random stopping of charge as yours for around 2 months. I need to peruse the forum more diligently, thankfully I caught this while I still have 2k miles left on the warranty.
